Hunting with Spurs on...?

G2 can you do a video on that strap mod?

Hunted for the first time with aluminum ultralight pads. They were soooooo uncomfortable. Who's using those pads with knee length rubber boots?

Just climbing or trying to wear them hunting?

I am. What was the problem?

They killed my legs. Very very uncomfortable. Is the pad secured around your boot or on top of it around your leg?

I tried both ways and neither worked very well.

I wear them with my Dan’s Froglegs. Run them right over the top.
What kind of discomfort are you feeling?
I’ll bet you have a boot buckle or crease under the pads giving you pressure points.

The only problem I had was getting the lower buckle to keep my foot from being loose. I figured out to run the strap under the spike instead of over for that.

I've been securing it around my boot. Do you have them cinched down tight?

No buckle or creases. The pad is right at the top of my rubber boots. I have to run the strap above the top of my boot, or else I can't get it tight enough to my leg. There is space between the top of my boots and legs.

What type of boots are you wearing? Mine are pretty flexible so the strap just brings them in. Actually I have one pair the strap goes above and one below. Hmm. Maybe take a pic.

I'm using Irish Setter Rutmaster boots. They are not flexible. The uppers are ridgid and don't fold very well underneath the strap. That's why I have to go above the top of the boot to get it tight.

It sounds to me like the reason you're have such a problem is because of your ridged top boots not because or the spurs. I don't think I've ever had a boot that was ridged.

I agree. I think it's a boot problem. Although, I didn't have a problem with my leather pads. They worked fine. So it's a combination of the boots and my new aluminum pads.
