Thanks!

So are most of you guys buying the saddle itself or the kit? And what color scheme are you getting?

I haven’t seen this much excitement about a new piece of hunting gear since Ralphie finally got his Red Ryder BB gun.

Looking forward to objective reviews of the Kestrel detailing the following aspects: (i) Comfort for at least a 6 hour set; (ii) Back band adjustment. Periodic tinkering with both the prussics and the back band straps to make a comfort adjustment seem like it may be an annoyance…hopefully not though.; and (iii) How is comfort level for long sets (at least 6 hours) without the back band? Put another way, do you find the back band is necessary equipment for the longer set?

I am interested also. Plus you need to be Plus Size <225lbs. And how does it compare to SD.

Well ... 1st saddle hunt ever this morning and with the kestrel. I can not thank everyone at saddle hunter and John Eberhart enough. I have an Evo too and spending 8 months getting used to it made this morning as easy as it gets. I spent 4 hours dangling with the kestrel , very comfortable , no fatigue and I could of spent all day in it and during the rut I will. I did not need back support like I thought I would and just for the occasional weight shift I was amazed at how comfy I was. My transition to a saddle was very easy ,absolutely no fear at all. My next hunt I will use my Evo and compare ..... I can not wait !

That's great! What were you using as a platform?

No platform , just ameristeps via John E. style. I set up a good amount of trees this past February , March & April in areas I have had to carry a tree stand in the past. Oh and I had hip waders on as well , I had to keep telling myself to stop moving around the tree and stay still. I was like a kid at xmas after he unwrapped a new toy lol

My thoughts after only a few sits are easier, quicker, and lighter. I love the leg buckles no more early morning wiggling into the saddle or having to get it dirty putting it on or taking it off. With fewer adjustments, there is much less to worry about when setting up the saddle. Finally the fact that it is lighter and a smaller form factor makes it easier to walk in with and packs down to a tiny bundle.

As to the comfort question, I will have to spend some more time with it to give an honest answer, but I'm sure that it will be comparable to the Evolution. I'm looking forward to doing more field research with the Kestrel to find out.

Roger,

So what order number are we at? Are they still in the 300's?
