Introducing the 2017 Aero Hunter Kestrel

Wow! Just watched both videos and I am impressed. I love the simplicity that thos offers over the old system. But I really like the detail. Right down to the webbing keeper. I hate having long straps dangling as they wiggle when you move. I am always using a rubber band or something to keep straps clean. It looms like a nice setup. I cannot wait to hear what some of you think about this system. I agree and think that i will wait for a bit before buying but i really like everything i have seen.

This is a game changer for the sitdrag group. No need to modify and it has the certified safety and that is always welcome!

Yeah I like the webbing keeper idea too. Wish it was on the waist belt straps too.

Looks awesome! I'm thinking this is going to be the first saddle I purchase. Can't wait for Wednesday! Thanks for posting the videos.

This would be an awesome way to start your saddle hunting career. Plus you can resell all your traditonal stands and what not. Thats how I paid for almost all my gear and I had like 30-35 stands

 Thirty five stands??? I don't even have 35 saddles!

Interesting these are available for purchase a day after payday... I really need this! I recently put together my first SD but don't have 100% confidence in my own sewing or a product that is only intended for use on the ground. The Kestrel checks all boxes in my opinion.

What school system starts this early. I teach in MD. We go back after labor day.

Yeah we go back the day after Labor Day. Man I could use a paycheck! Lol

This is my first year saddle hunting I've just got my sitdrag completely the way I want it and now this comes out, I tried the sit drag to get by cheap but I think I've already talked myself into buying this!

So for you experienced rappelling spur crazy folks. I have been just clipping into my RC harness to rappell while using the sitdrag. With the kestrel it won't be the same and using the bridge is the only clip in point. With the bridge say extended and all tension being placed on this point would it be safe????

Overalls I think this thing is gonna be bomb proof

I don't have any problem rappelling down with my bridge at full length right now. Going up with SRT I need it short though.

Boswell I had a back and pelvic injury it's almost been a year and I was wondering which saddle would be better the evolution or the new one I was just wondering how much pressure would be on the pelvic area with the new one
First guess would be Evo would work better just off all the adjustably. The flip side is the Kestrel is very similar especially used with the back band. So honestly I don't know, I think you would be ok with either. But given your injury you would have to try each and see.

Thanks,
Boswell

Well after watching the video again of the kestrel, l I'm thinking I may end up with both It's Only Money I make more everyday

I just added saddle hunting this year to my arsenal and I wish the evolution was made 20 years ago. I bought two of them knowing they would stop making them at some point and after the 16th they are. The evolution is awesome and once you are at height the waist belt and paws really give me an extra sense of security to move the way I need to and just focus on the shot. If you are used to carrying around treestands like me , the evolution is nothing in weight and if you have trees already set up , its a breeze. You will find yourself shopping for ameristep sales a lit more after season. Eders.com has awesome prices on ameristeps.

Good to know. I try to buy them when they are less than $2/each. Best I've found is a place by me that sells 10packs for $16.
