Introducing the FlinginX Super-Pro-Premium platform!

Whoa nice buck! Cool pic of the deer through the site as well. As for your camo, isn't that sitka? I really like the look, just dont like the price. I want it, just not sure what line I want. I like the normal fabric better than the fuzzy stuff, just looks cooler and we know that's important.:sunglasses:

Yep Sitka. Absolutely love it! I get it for 40% off from LEOadventures program so price isn't as bad.

I finally scored this morning. This tasty little doe came in alone and I couldn't stop myself. Perfect 16 yard shot and dead in 30 yards.

OK, I made one too. 1.25 inch square tube 1/8 in walls with 1 in square solid stock(had to sand it down to make it fit) to reinforce inside. 1.5 in on the ends and 3in in the middle where the platform connects and pushes against the bar. Filled the empty space with great stuff foam. After all that I feel like I should have just gotten solid 1.25 square and called it good and dealt with an extra 3 oz or whatever it would have been. Altogether I'm excited to use this instead of 6 aluminum steps on a strap. IMG_20161006_171237366_HDR.jpgIMG_20161006_171243930.jpg

Looks good. First one i did was out of solid bar stock

Hey guys, this is my first post and I'm starting to put together a sit drag saddle and about to pick up stuff to build a platform. I'm looking at solid aluminum just to not have to mess with inserting wood support.

Would this also work to skip putting themetal piece under the seat screw?

Would 7075 aluminum be overkill?

Mine is solid and I don't have a steel plate for the seat screw, it dug in a little at first, but not bad... so up to you.

Would not having the steel plate effect the strength of the aluminum post?
Not if it's solid. Honestly you may not even need it with a hollow bar. None of the other manufacturers use solid. I like to add it as an extra precaution a and it helps the seat stay level without using adding much of the leveling screw

Ok thanks! I assume the 7075 is overkill since everyone is using 6061?

Also is centering the seat in the middle of the post the best position for keep it from kicking?

I'm not sure about kicking, but any further back than center, and it won't fold flat. You can verify by putting the bar in the slot, with the platform folded and mark the hole
