Introducing the FlinginX Super-Pro-Premium platform!

I'm not sure about kicking, but any further back than center, and it won't fold flat. You can verify by putting the bar in the slot, with the platform folded and mark the hole

Sorry, I meant the vertical positioning..higher or lower on the post

Oh, you want it higher. On a 12 " bar, I put the hinge bolt around 3 1/8" from the top.

That is with the xop brackets 1/8" from the ends. (Holes around 7/16 from the end)

The cam over is legit. Pulls the platform into the tree right!

you must have some soft barked trees down in GA. lol

Ok thanks! I assume the 7075 is overkill since everyone is using 6061?

Also is centering the seat in the middle of the post the best position for keep it from kicking?
It's a lot stronger but cost more. Give it a try and let us know how it works.

Awesome thread Guys, A ton of great info here!!!!
Curious if anyone has tried using the LW batwings vs the different V brackets and what issues if any you may have had?
Sounds like a lot of you have had issues with the different manufacturers V brackets bending, just wondering if a batwing might be more apt to kick out, rock or shift with side loads when moving for a shot?

Yes, that's the one. I have one of each and prefer the XOP. The little ears are nice for the attachment point.

Don't use the ear tabs to attach to! I've personally broke one off when caming the stand over. Those tabs were meant for attaching the cushion to and were not designed to take that much tension. I recommend attaching to the frame of platform.

Point taken, and thanks!

I guess I should clarify. I'm wrapping my loop over the main frame and then again over the tab. The tab is simply used to hold the loop in place, and only has shear weight on it. IMHO the weaker link/stress point is the main frame at that point. I'm 225# and it's rock solid with 20+ hunts on it thus far.
