New Aider Idea

I like it. I think there are more versatile aiders available. This one definitely takes the award for ingenuity. Good job

Wow! That's awesome.... I'm adding that to the try pile.

Some mods have been made. I swapped the leg strap to 1/2 flat webbing (sacrificed an old fanny pack) and have added a snap buckle. Much easier to attach now. I sewed the foot loop. no need for adjustment there. I also slipped a 1 inch plastic nut that I think came form on old faucet. The webbing goes through it snug, just enough for me to light cinch the loop around the foot so the loop can't slip off. I think I like it because it takes a nano second to adjust it. So now the aider can come on and off real easy, even when up in a tree. I will test it later this weekend.

That's awesome and I don't think you would have to ever take it off.
This can be the first of the spring line of saddlehunter clothing.
I'm thinking about knee high boots with that hook built into them.

I’m so impressed with not just the ingenuity of the guys on this forum, but the fact that they share with the rest of the members! Great idea, very awesome in deed! This place rocks

Looks like the perfect spot for a castration band. Makes the perfect cinch!

That's pretty cool. When you put your weight on it, does it put extra pressure or any discomfort on your knee? My knees aren't in the best shape from skiing and motocross when I was younger.

No pressure on the knee. That strap is just the to hold the hook in place. Entire load is on the footloop.

It also seems super stable because it is short. Kick out risk seems low.

Thanks, good to know. I have some straps from my summit bucksteps that have the same type of hook so I think I'll try and make one up to try.

@Peterk1234
You should really think of a name for this type of aider you came up with. I do believe you’re on to something that will stick around and will continue to be saddle hunting jargon for quite some time....especially with Stepp Ladder users! I know I’ll be making one soon to try out with my stepps!

Agreed. It needs a name. It's brilliant. Otherwise, I'm calling it a knaider as I already call mine tether aider a taider. You can do better!
