Thread injector

Repeat after me: I will not f- with the bottom tension.

Repeat 10 times.

Rule out any other possible cause of a problem.

Repeat 10 more times.

Then and only then mess with bottom tension. Then bring it to someone who knows what they're doing.

It's great to make your own gear. Even small mods like "wish I had a loop there..." 20 minutes later, done.

As for thread, look for guttermans 100% polyester, which I think can still be bought at dutchwaregear.com. Feeds well and is strong and UV resistant.

I just used the coats and Clark outdoor thread, it worked great. Bathroom selfies with 15 rope steps in my pouch, I could fit 20 easy.

Just made a sling pack for my Cranford rope steps with my singer 4423, fleece outside and duck canvas inside. Can't wait to make my backpack!

That's nice. Great work. I'm going to make something similar for my strap on steps. Is that a backpack strap off a summit climber?

Thanks, no, it's off an old safety strap.

Thread injecting IS a manly thing. We aren't making drapes. We are making tools to kill things, so we can cook them with fire. It doesn't get much more manly than that.

Great topic guys. I love this post I about died in my saddle right now reading this. I would have to agree. Most manly this we can do besides slinging the arrow is making stuff for the hunt!

You guys are in denial - it's a "sewing" machine - says so right on the box. And these are from dudes that wear crocs - which cost far more man card points then using a SEWING machine. Suck it up, be the man, call a spade a spade, and OWN it. Now if you wear crocs while sewing your are DONE. :)

Haha, I sew, but I refuse to wear crocs!

I hunted in crocks and a leafy suit the other day... Now more girly man sewing pictures!

Wow---- I am speechless in TX. Just had a vision of G2 riding a purple unicorn over a rainbow, wearing his little pink crocs, while knitting a chartreuse sweater.......

After the first stitch, the momentum kept it going ok. This was 2 really thick layers of webbing.
Would you buy this again or get a different one? Amazon has pretty good busy on these right now. Thanks

Would definitely buy again. Just sewed a SitDrag up for my brother with belt and Molle loops. It never missed a stitch and didn't hesitate with the webbing. I used heavy upholstery thread with the bottom tension at 3. Worked like a charm. Highly recommend.
