There is always the option of a steel, carbon fiber, etc insert if comfort is an issue.
Where did you get the two green ditty bags from? Im looking for something just like that.flinginairos said:clint6760 said:Flingin what are you using for a flip line
7' of New England High Vee rope with sewn eye splice on one side and ropeman1 ascender on the other. For the size trees I hunt it works good. It's fairly stiff so it's easy to get up the tree

seems like if one connected a rope to both of them before taking them off, then that would be a safe way to do it. Sort of like being connected to the tree the entire time, same concept.huck72412 said:If you have a plan for your spurs once you remove them then you will be fine. Just carefully remove one at a time and hang it on a hook. Works for me.

Let me see if I can get my wife to help on that tonight.

What is your safety rig up when you do this? LInesman's belt, tether, both?
Any issues with the spikes clinking around on screw in steps?

Once you find out what is clinking bring out the tape. I just wrapped all my metal on metal connections with electrical and duct tape and mine don't make any noise now.
