XOP/Ameristep combo

I did, I know, I don’t. I trust my stitching, not saying I should and I understand your point. These type projects are clearly at my risk.
Well at least it's just your platform if it does fail you are still connected to the tree via your tether. I wonder how much pressure that loop would be under when you cam it over?

Put it on a tree in your yard. Cam it over. Throw 500 lbs of weight on it and let it sit for 24 hours. That should tell you something.

I don't think I would do that, unless you have an extra platform that you don't mind breaking. Also putting a load like that could weaken the overall system somewhere.

Here's a good read on sewing, the guy does a bunch of testing, it's pretty interesting but would still keep me from doing it on anything critical. I'm hoping to get an industrial sewing machine someday..... but they aren't cheap.

At 250, I'd want it to be able tohold twice my body weight.

Seems like y’all are having problems with the ameristep placement being too far around the tree. Could it be slid on in front of the buckle or is the double webbing loop end to thick to pass it through.

Yeah it is definitely too thick for it to pass through.

My problem is finding some steps to buy. Lol. I missed a golden opportunity yesterday. Saw some for sale on a post after I got in from hunting and they were already sold.

It's a 9" I beam that I machined.
