Just slightly down. I think it also locks in a little better that way. I tend to stand with the edge just inside the heel of my boot. I'm actually barely on it most of the time. But if needed I can stand up and turn around for a shot behind me.

Yeah, I've been crazy busy trying to get ready for it. I leave next Thursday and I feel really unprepared. The extended forecast has me scrambling. Highs in the low 40's. I didn't plan for that. Not to mention, I tore my hammock last week so it's out for repairs. I think I have everything else put together. No idea what my pack is gonna weigh yet. I'm sure something ungodly.

I'm looking forward to the break, and hopefully a good long story for you guys when I get back.

If anyone is looking for kits in the next couple of weeks, get ahold of me early or you'll have to wait till I get back. ......

You got a week, you'll get it done! I feel like I'm always scrambling the night before opening day to get everything together even though I spend all year tinkering with gear!! lol

Make sure you show us what you're taking so we can give you a good saddlehunter send off!
 
Awesome platform. While I may have blown the shot the platform was a huge upgrade on comfort.

Thanks. I will look another day or so but I am doubtful. I think with the angle I should have placed the shot further back. The stumbling is what made me so sure but he could have been tripping on the arrow or I nicked his opposite leg. Hope I see him again one way or another. I hit where I was aiming but I should have been aiming further back.

Hate to ask but hard to search through 300+ posts. What ropes are y'all using to replace your sling and use a stepp knot? And how are you rigging it?

I use a 1/4" amsteel for the stepp knot. Spliced and girth hitched on one side, stepp knot on the other.
