Official Team 3 2018 Deer Contest Winners Discussion Thread

In the tree guys passed on 3 doe and two smaller bucks. The 3 had two fawns. We will see what else comes if not back in the evening brown and down then
 
Two more came in but were ran off by a fox. Im starting to think i jinked myself with all that trash talking loll

Lol i did quite a bit lol!! Although camera activity has been high up until Friday when i last checked cams the humidity spiked. Its amazing how the woods change overnight
 
Team 3 sorry guy had to pass tonight on 3 small does and the funky 5 I mentioned earlier i got a closer look he is a funky 6. I passed on him as well even after he bedded 3 times within 20 yards of me!! Im kinda in a mental funk working out some personal issues i kinda new would hit me once i got into the deer woods. Minus the ridiculous hot weather with 95% humidity im seeing plenty and will hopefully let arrows fly tomorrow or this week. Hope everyone is ready to rock with their seasons upcoming and we will be in this contest lol shortly i.e the scoreboard i mean.
 
Guys sorry just got done with everything!! It was an awesome day today. Went out this morning hopeful but nothing. Went back to the same spot as I approached the crest of the ridge two does one was pretty large. I attempted to shoot the large one but as i drew she made me and bounded off.

Well at that point i climb my tree with hopes they would return. About an hour later they return but kept behind every tree. They were skitish and took off again. I watched them about 80 yds away for about another hour or so until they disappeared.

About 4:45pm i hear something behind me and i glance back and see the same two does come from behind me. Somehow they circled around me. This time both does literally walk right under my tree. While perched in my predator platform i watch the large one stop 16yds from me and she is just facing straight away from me so no shot. No lie she steps over the log and turns slightly quartering almost fully broadside. I take aim breathe and whack. I watch that arrow punch right thru her and she bolts like a bat out hell. She jumps over the rock wall onto private property. That was 4:55pm!!

I knew the shot was good so about 20 minutes later i get down and check the arrow it bright red with bubbles. Im thinking double lung. I head back to my truck at this point because I can’t follow until i talk to the landowner.

I head over to the property my deer went and the owner wasn’t home. I then contacted a game warden in the area and she came by and escorted me while i recovered my doe!! The problem was it was a little over two hours before she could meet me!! Needless to say she arrived and i found my doe!! The next issue was I wasn’t allowed to field dress her on that property. I ended up dragging this doe up a straight hill about 80% incline for 200yds.

That drag sucked as every time i would stop she wanted to slide down the hil in the sled. Got her home and she ended up weighing 190lbs not dressed.

Needless to say this was a great day but a long one!!
