I went out in Rhode Island public Sunday afternoon. Not super hot, like 85, but ridiculous humidity probably pushing up from that storm. Took it slow and I was still a sweaty mess by the time I hit the woodline. Sat to cool off, then grabbed a tree on the edge of the swamp thicket where there was already a smallish rub and tons of fresh poop. Got up the tree with my noisy Muddy Pro Sticks and something didn't seem right - left my friggin' Kestrel back in the truck about a half mile away. Left everything at the tree then did the sweaty march back out where I started the old diesel up and sat in the A/C for 20 minutes before heading back in.
A little teaze of breeze every now and then, took forever to stop dripping sweat. Not much moving except a few hikers in the distance. Finally at last light a spike came in, and I didn't want to drag him out in this heat. Hopefully he smartens up and grows real big. Broke the ice, hopefully I'll get back in stride AND the weather breaks in favor of walking around in the woods!
