Admittedly I am new to saddle hunting.
Here’s my idea. Please feel free to war game pros and cons. I have in my possession 4 of these wheel chocks. I’m considering cutting a slot through each, on either side and running a ratchet srap through them for a ROS. I’ll texturize the smooth top with a soldering iron, similar to the way you see guys stipple polymer frame pistols. My thoughts are, they’re light, and fit together well but are strong enough to keep a car from rolling, and since the bulk of my weight will be on the saddle, their surface area in contact with the tree should be plenty to keep me stable.
