Knees into the tree 80% of the time, I guess that makes me a sitter 80% and leaner 20%. I'm with @redsquirrel though, it is meant to be sat in. I only lean to stretch my body out. I did two all day sits last season. I can't imagine leaning the whole time.

Last year in the Kestrel I was 90% leaner and 10% sitter. The size 2 Kestrel tended to ride up when I was sitting. This year I completely reversed that using the XL Mantis. It stayed where I put it and I sat with my knees against the tree. I was comfortable leaning in the Kestrel but I felt a little more relaxed sitting in the Mantis while leaning forward onto my tether.

I feel like we need a rule that everybody's profile pic should be a side profile of them from their knees to lower back in a pair of spanx. That way we can match hanging styles to similar body types.
Nobody wants to see me in spanx, I’m old and wrinkly

As a 6 year wrestler I think there’s a limit on how many people you want to see in spanx lol

Damn that might actually be worse then some of the croc pictures.

I lean most of the time, but I sit when I feel like it. I can do either comfortably.

Sitter 80% lean 20%.
BUT it changes with the time of day and how much deer I’m seeing. If it’s an action packed day I’m 20% sit and 80% lean. I won’t sit much between daylight and 9 am either. That’s when I see the most deer.

With ROS - 90% sit with tether as high as I can reach and long bridge.

With Primal Platform - 75% lean with tether at chest height and short bridge.

First go around with the saddle 12-15 years ago I mostly sat. Now I prefer to lean much more. Still do some sitting when I need to.

I do it all Sit- left, right and center Lean- Left & right Side saddle- One leggers - Straddle. I am not flexible enough to sit on platform...I would never be able to get back up.

That is why this style is so individual. I’m the exact opposite of boyne, while I agree with redsquirrel and nutterbuster. I mostly have my upper legs slightly above 90* with one knee on the tree (or a combination of knee/shin) and one on a step to the side of the tree. I also feel the kestrel is more of a sitters saddle and the mantis a leaners. I couldn’t keep the mantis from riding up while sitting unless I moved the bridge down on the loops.

Each of us do what ever makes us comfortable but why not wear it? I expect non saddlehunters to ask some questions when I’m wearing this shirt! Great conversation starter? Maybe? Let me know if anyone wants the new HangTime “sitter or leaner?” shirt. Inspired by the man, the myth, the leaner @denots
