"SITTER" or a "LEANER"

After hunting all year, idk if i've leaned 15 minutes total. I may need to try it out there.

What is the average diameter you guys climb? Are you hunting something skinny enough that it goes between your legs? Or are you hunting a tree that you put your knees on?
Knees on. "Basketball sized".

I always think the tree straddling will be great but then end up in trees too wide for that to work comfortably. Perhaps I unnecessarily pass up good options.

I very rarely actually straddle the tree. Usually it's knees on it but I change the positions up so it doesn't get uncomfortable.

Do you use a strap or something to help keep your knees together? I find that I can't ever relax my muscles in my legs while trying to sit. It is less strenuous to just lean

No. My legs are totally relaxed like I’m sitting in a chair almost.

The smaller the tree the more you have to use your muscles to hold you knees together, or switch to one knee. Bigger trees are easier to keep your knees against the tree and relaxed in my opinion.

Hmm. I haven't experienced that yet and I believe that is why I haven't been a sitter at all. I will do some testing with it this off season and see what I can find out.
