Well season opens a week from now, and im off that week. If i get any tickets i will keep yall updated and let ya know....
Wear your orange, don't block the gates, don't throw corn out, smile and wave at The Man if you see him, and keep your licenses handy to give him. Every one I've ever met has been pleasant enough, and I've never had a vehicle, game vest, or pack searched.Well season opens a week from now, and im off that week. I wonder if saddles like the TL Ambush would be ok. It has a hook in loop sewn into the back of it like regular treestand harnesses do.Just don’t raise attention to it and continue hunting with the saddle. If you are questioned. Put it on and hang upside down from the tree. If they still write you a ticket, they were gonna find something to write you a ticket for anyway.
If attention is drawn, they will require saddles to be made with shoulder straps and be TMA approved. Saddle prices will go up even more and we will be stuck wearing saddles with shoulder straps. Then decide to cut them off and be back to square one but with a more expensive saddle.
Ha, come to PA. We had 2 walk at least a mile or 2 onto our private lease and write a member up who was hunting with his daughter because someone trespassing on our land and called them because they had seen a mineral block (during the summer). My buddy is an honest guy and would never bait deer (it's illegal in PA) but he forgot he put it out for his trail camera (legal in PA as long as you remove it a month before the season. There was a piece the size of a small bar of soap left and they wrote him a $150 citation.I don't know about you guys but I've never seen a DNR officer out in the woods in the entire time I've hunted. They're usually out driving around checking licenses at the parking lots, but never in the woods.
Plus if that didnt kill you, hanging with a strap around your chest and your arms up is a sure to die from suffocationI believe it would hold up in court unless the judge got a chuckle out of it (which is a distinct possibility).
A 5 point, full body harness is absolutely necessary in some industries, and the reason so many regs specify them is because waist belts, which are superficially almost identical to saddles, killed and crippled a lot of hunters back when climbing stands were becoming a thing. Fall with slack in a waist harness while leaning out facing away from the tree on a platform, and you can wreck your back.
Obviously, we don't use saddles that way. But change comes slow to the deep south.
I'm waiting for the right deal, I know it's coming. If there are people injured maybe it'll scare off the people who shouldn't be messing with this stuff away.....just reading on this forum since the beginning of this season it seems there has been a lot of full set ups for sales in classified. Lots of people will realise this just isn't for them.

I'm thinking you mean plummet. I don't think they'll ever be banned, at least in my state.Hold off until they're banned , prices will really skyrocket.
Off topic, but those 2 wardens did that because they got a baiting tip, not as part of their regular patrol. Unless they are personal friends of your buddy, they don't know him from Adam, as far as they are concerned, he could've been a preacher.....or a serial poacher. Also, ALL evidence of any baiting must be completely gone 30 days before season opens.Ha, come to PA. I know the rules as does my buddy, and I know why they came back,it happened to us. He didnt realize it was still there(his fault he didnt check and he didnt fight it). They showed up at our gate (about 3/4 mile down a private road) and harassed another member a year earlier because he didnt have his license with him (never mind he wasnt hunting). We have a few knuckleheads in our WMU. They gate any public access roads until the week before season (1 road is 4 miles long through game lands) and then they whine because license purchases are down. But I guess it happens everywhere. Officers I've met from other WMU areas have been totally cool and are more than happy to share their knowledge of the area.Off topic, but those 2 wardens did that because they got a baiting tip, not as part of their regular patrol. Sounds like big government once again is getting involved in something they shouldn't.
Next thing you know they'll tell us we can't use a Ropeman 1 on Oplux too!Bureaucracy, what a pathetic joke.
