Yep. I've been following this thread. I like the idea of a stouter, wider platform. I'd be interested in trying it. But 300 smackaroons is a lot to try something out. They were crazy at $279....
I tend to agree with that philosophy. Maybe I'll bite. Heck, I tried their sticks! But even $280 was a chunk of change. At some point, you gotta call the bluff. Was in a pool room in the seventies, two guys were playing 6 ball ($100 a game) and one was down $1500, lost again, threw down another 100 dollar bill and said IT'S ONLY MONEY and racked them up again. This platform will last longer than we will so throw another 20 on the table, IT;S ONLY MONEY.
A treestand company cant afford to bottom out its main product line but can gouge a small niche market and get away with it. Look l love LW treeStands for certain hunting applications. I'm just not going to fuel their make believe saddle expertise at this pricepoint.
And I suspect they wont fool too many guys here either
He really doesn't hunt out of a saddle...its more of a waist band, but like you love Andraes desugn input no matter what...good discussion on the Ambush and there should beWhile I agree that $300 is a lot of money, and they're probably only charging that because they know they can exploit the market, I wouldn't call the expertise make believe. Andre and Cody have had little hand in the design of the platform. That's all been done by Brad Kuhnert, who's been hunting from a saddle since the '80s. My impression has been that Andre has provided some technical and manufacturing input, but he is not at all the spearhead of the project.

Well, just my point...nobody here is slinging 360° around a tree on a waist band...not unless your one of the flying Valindas from the 50'sNo, it's not a saddle at all. He calls it a 'sling'. I think the purpose of his system is the same as a saddle. But, you can't sit in his 'sling' - likely the reason for a bigger platform.
I also think Andre and Cody realized that the original Assassins (designed by Brad) were currently selling for $400+, and they wanted to take advantage of that.

I believe the predator plateform is just the right size for us saddle hunters. Otherwise just call the other a slingin plateformI think $300 is a lot of money to have to spend on one of these, but I also think there is definitely a market and people will pay it because there is no other platform that size available now. There are a lot of guys who want a larger platform to stand on. Just not me
I think any platform is too big for saddle hunters. Just use a ROSI believe the predator plateform is just the right size for us saddle hunters. Otherwise just call the other a slingin plateform

I've hunted from the Assassin platform for years and compared to my Predator, well, there're levels in this game...
