Prayers needed

I'm glad your kids are doing well. Thanks for the offer to help. Children's is an amazing hospital with extremely gifted doctors.

One of my wife's friends is organizing a moving event to help us. We are blessed to have such good friends!!!

The hardest part is my wife and I can't get much planning done on Elynns care due to the covid restrictions the hospital has placed. Only 1 parent allowed in at a time and no other family allowed. We can't have or parents visit to help us plan for her care. I've seen my wife for about 15 minutes over the last 72 hours. When we're in the room with her, we're just concentrating on her. the only time we have to communicate is through texts while she is sleeping. She was up most of the day today and I enjoyed every minute.

My kids are 20 and 15 now so that was a long time ago. I will help out with the move if you need more hands. Just PM me if you need the help.

That’s great news @Homebrew454. Also thanks for sharing her name. Takes some of the awkwardness of praying for homebrew454’s daughter. Not sure if it’s supposed to be the most powerful moonshine one could hold in one hand or if you just reload for your 454. Either way it’s great that she is doing well and meeting goals. Still praying for a full and speedy recovery.

As I type this my daughter is in surgery as the result of a freak bicycle accident. She wasn't going very fast but with gravity, her body weight, and her slow speed caused the handle bars to strike her in the abdomen. This caused a surface bruise but also caused her pancreas to be severed apart.

She never fell to the ground and the handle bars just swung into her.

The surgeons are trying to save her pancreas but she will be in a long recovery. It could be up to 4 months of hospitalization.

I'm just asking for prayers for her recovery. Hug your kids and give them a kiss.

I used to make beer prior to becoming a celiac last fall. Thus homebrew and 454 was my badge number at the time where I work as a deputy sheriff.

I really appreciate everyone's opting of support!!! As I have aged, I have definitely seen God's work and with this event I believe I have witnessed a miracle first hand!!!

Just saw this. I am very happy to hear Elynn is doing better. In spite of creating a little discomfort at times ,laughter is one of the best medicines. God bless you and your family through this trying time.

I'm getting ready to go down by my daughter shortly. Things are going well right now and hopefully everything continues to progress at this rapid pace for her continued recovery.

I'm attaching a picture of my daughter and a gift my daughter received from one of her teachers.

That's an awesome smile Elynn has!! I'm sorry that your family has to go through this but I hope it draws your family closer to God. I don't know if yours is a church going family but in my experience having a good church family in a Bible believing church is awesome and they've always got your back. I'll continue to pray for a speedy recovery.

Every Sunday finds us in church except for this covid spell. Not happy about the government taking that away from us.

So glad to hear things are going well! Events like that make us appreciate every moment and remember to not take things for granted. Everything can change in an instant.

I will pray for her continued recovery!

The surgeon was just in the room. He advised that he is just amazed at her progress. He checked her pancreatic levels and they are all normal!!! The drainage tubes don't have enough coming out to even test any more.

He explained that they are going to report the success of this surgery to the medical/surgical community!! Hopefully, with the technique they used it will help others who may have a similar injury.

She has been upgraded to a low fat diet as well. She was able to walk a few stairs as well today.

She is an extremely strong and stubborn young lady!!!
