Glad to hear the good news of a successful surgery. Will be praying for your family during this time.

Update for the day. Her goal for today is to walk the hallway 3 times. She is exhausted from the surgery and everyone coming in to check on her and give her meds.

She had been up 4 times to use the bathroom and had been successful, which isn't always easy after surgery.

She won't be able to eat for at 3 weeks or until her pancreas is healed. She has a PICC line which will be giving her the nutrients and calories she needs until then.

We just feel so blessed to have our daughter. Thanks again for all the prayers!!!!

I'll check to see if she can receive cards in the mail at the hospital. I'm sure she would really appreciate that. Unfortunately, due to covid they are only allowing 1 parent in at a time and get brother may not be able to see her. This whole ordeal has been torture on my wife and me but through Christ we will persevere.

Still praying!! Glad to hear how miraculous this has turned. I would strongly recommend against her handling a bunch of well intentioned mail during her recovery. People can do a lot remotely.....

Good point. I guess in lieu of cards and such just make a donation to your church or charity for her. Also keep the prayers coming!

It is amazing how wonderful she is. Through this all she is more worried about how everyone else is handling this than her. She is 10 years old and told hospital staff that she will do whatever they want her to do if it gets her home faster.

Awww man I just saw this and I’m really sorry for her man. God bless her and you and your family. I pray that you find peace of mind here soon my friend.

Guys just another update. Things are progressing well. She accomplished all of her daily goals that were established by the surgical team for today. She still is in pain but seems to be handing it very well.

I haven't seen a smile yet from her but my dad jokes have gotten some eye rolls do I will work on the smile.

We will know more when they start pulling labs on her pancreas drainage. They will also be taking a blood sugar level tonight to help monitor the function as well.

This thread made me horrified at first but, seeing the response on here and her amazing recovery so far, I’m taking a moment to thank the Lord. Please keep us updated as you feel comfortable!
