I'm counting more than one string there :tearsofjoy:. I let a basket 8 walk the other night b/c I didn't want to burn a buck tag so early in the season. Still out there gunning (bowing?) for slickheads in the interim.

I know my elbow made me give up the “one strings” 5 years ago. This bow is the only bow I have ever had sights on.

Spent a few hours hanging till dark but unfortunately no one decided to come to my party. Was almost 80 degrees today and tomorrows weather will be the same. Will get out anyway because I got no chance of killing one from the couch.

I’m up and ready. First morning in the park, and it’s always interesting to hear the joggers and bike riders coming by. 80 degrees so it’s a nice day for park activity, hopefully they’ll move some deer around.

Saw a doe this evening. She knew something was up coming in, but kept coming. By time she got broadside, she was wary and staring at me. She never looked away long enough to be able to draw and ended up walking off unscathed. She never did figure out what I was so that’s a win.

Just had a small buck with 2 does come in down the trail almost perfect... except the buck breaks off the trail, comes right to base of my tree, catches ground scent and BLOWS up haha. It was nice to see deer though

Nada for me today. I’ll be back in the AM but pulling stakes after the morning hunt. Got a commitment that’ll keep me out of the woods in the afternoon.

3 sits so far and no tag filled yet...I should be able to sneak in at least 1 midweek sit
Good news is our place has some white oaks that are dropping, should put some points on the board and meat in the freezer soon!

Man the white oaks here are raining. The hard part is finding where the deer are concentrated because there are so many on the ground already. All the pin oaks, and reds are ripe and on the ground. The whites are dropping but most are still green. There’s a cold front coming at the end of the week, should be $$$
