Unlike most of these other guys I am just a consumer I don’t work for them I have no special interest or get anything special from them I keep it real and tell it how it is... They clearly sell the most innovative products in the business and I try everything... But I also know enough to tell the difference between a bullshit artist and someone telling the truth and it only takes one phone call with Andre to figure that out...

I purchased in the original run last year and had emailed them about the posts I saw in which post holes were drilled off center. Spoke to Andre on the phone and he sent me a replacement post, even though mine was not off center. He didn't mention anything about insufficient material/potential safety hazard. The big question is, were all the first run ambush's built with the weak post?

So here is my replacement post from the off center first run....... looks like the bad one to me!

I think he was referring to the bad drilling and water jetting on the original post. Not the structural issue that's being talked about here. I bought one of the very first Ambush's off the line. The buttons were bending and the holes were not straight. None of them were breaking at that time. @enkriss your a bigger dude and you didn't break yours right? So he sent out new post with steel buttons. Then one and now two are broke (not six months ago ... in the past month or so). I'd give the benefit of the doubt that some have broke and the user's didn't post anything about it. But there's no way on God's green earth that these have been breaking by the tens and hundreds and no one is reporting them on here or FB. There are a bunch of salty hunters who "paid good money" for a platform and you think they are not going to post about catastrophic failure? That's hard to believe. I think this is a new issue (a serious one at that) and he has made the proper structural changes to the post and is getting it sent out. Tethrd did not do a recall and neither is he. But he made a public post and is fixing the issue. I'm not sticking up for LWCG. I could care less. But it's important to know the truth of events here.

Any post that looks like that is bad. Doesn't matter if it's original run or not. I have no clue how many Ambush's that is. But everyone who has a post that looks like this needs to contact them and get a new one ASAP. I do know the latest run is good to go because I have one. What a mess. I sure hope everyone takes the standard precaution of never being detached from the tree once above ground level.

I agree. It is a mess. It's also scary stuff. Please be tethred up before stepping onto any platform/ROS/stand/steps etc... You get bonus points if you keep your LB on until you get fully setup. There's a lot of YouTube videos out there where this is not happening.
 
This is the whole concept I was referring to earlier. Andre creates some of, if not, the most innovative hunting gear the world has ever seen. But, I do not believe he takes the adequate time to test his stuff. Yes, he fixes his mistakes and yes he has been pretty upfront about everything, BUT, had this gone through adequate testing, it would have likely been caught at an earlier stage, preferably BEFORE getting in the consumer's hands.

I understand that some failures are inevitable. But, to have holes off centered and still ship the stuff out on a $300 platform.. that makes me question a mans integrity.

i am 6-4 @ 248 currently. No where near the 300lb limit. This isn’t a new issue. According to LWCG these defective posts were shipped out 9 months ago. Hopefully they are all replaced. The seasons are just starting. I just don’t want to see anyone get hurt.
 
The post they are telling me is defective was sent to me on 2/20/2020

Reviving this thread with an Ambush update. The latest Ambush is now coming with angled teeth. The popping issue is fixed and it cams over extremely well on all types of trees. Also they beveled the edges of the post where the strap makes contact to prevent wear on the strap. Also I just realized you can build a shelf with the minis ... this may be the best platform system out there, change my mind. Note: It still flexes and I don't care. It doesn't bother me. I don't feel like I'm going to fall out of the tree and I don't feel like it's going to break.
