Trad bow deals

Angles needed from my memory is 15 to 25 degrees depending how much pre load you want or need

Ok I'll bite. I have an original Wing 42 @ 28" RH and a Bear Kodiak (The green one) I believe at the same poundage. Shot the bear two winters ago. I hardly use them. I might be willing to part with them but really don't know their value. I like them but If others will use them, I'd rather get them to folks that will use them. LMK pricing. I can provide pics. Don't want to pay outrageous shipping costs though. I was thinking like $125 a piece for them but I truly don't know their value.

I also have a cast magnesium Bear Super Pro Specialist Riser (Just like the Black Bear) It was a pro shop compound bow back in the day. Actually thinking about putting the bow back together as I painted it many years ago so it hasn't been strung hence not tension on the wooden/fiberglass laminate limbs for years. I'd be willing to sell that too. IT has ILF inserts too as I was thinking about trying that but haven't gotten around to it and probably will not. What's the value of these risers? What is the value with the ILF inserts for them? Should this be in the classifieds?? I was thinking $100 for this and $150 for the entire bow (broken down).

I have a Reflex Nomad riser which was the same as the Hoyt Dorado. I’m going to look into it.

The Dorado is a 19” riser but is not very aggressive preload wise. I would say the FX limbs would be around 50-52# on that riser.

It might be harder to warf you need to get angles in perfect. But it’s a better choice to do bolt on limbs instead because if it remember they had 2 steel marbles as the pivot point I would recommend doing a bolt on instead and that was a extremely thick riser to boot
What’s this bolt mod that you are talking about?

Once you take the limbs off there should be 2 big marbles that will fall out if I’m correct as it’s been years. I would no bondo the divots left by the marbles flush then I would find some limbs that you could use to bolt down to that riser then start cutting and shaping to the limb contour to be flush like any 3 pc bow. There is ALOT of wood on that riser. You could slim it down if you want to.

This thread is great. I’m sending out a lefty riser that has been in my shed for ten years and am unloading some broadheads…….getting a ”new” set of limbs as well.

Good stuff.

Picture didn’t attach in previous post. grc003 posted a picture of a compound with a stick bow behind it.
That’s an old kodiak k-6 static recurve my grandfather bought as his first hunting bow when he was 28. He passed it down to me last year.
