Bib wearers unite! I made the switch to bibs cuz I got tired of wind blowing up my backside and the saddle pulling my pants down. Best decision I ever made. My goto now are Under Armour Rut windproof bibs. Berber lining with fleece outer and wind layer sandwiched in between. ive worn them down to 30 degrees with just a hoodie and was warm. The listed temp range is 40-60 but I can’t see anyone wearing these in 60 degree weather. They have a large thigh pocket perfectly situated which easily holds a pair of gloves. Chest pocket as well perfect for range finder or phone.

I have a pair of insulated Northwest Territory and uninsulated Walls bibs that I wear 90+ percent of the time. I have a nicer set of pants/top of Scent Lok stuff but more often than not I go for the trusted and well worn bibs in cheaper brands lol.

Bibs are an absolute necessity. Made the switch a few years ago and have never looked back. Still run just a set of sportsman’s guide bibs and parka in mossy oak break up country (my favorite camo). Nothing special compared to the big expensive brands out there but they work great for me.

I like uninsulated bibs for spot and stalk but if I wear them while using a saddle the side buttons get smooshed into my hip/side by the saddle and it's pretty uncomfortable...i have my saddle on when I leave the truck whether I intend to use it or not so I don't wear the bibs that much anymore...I have an insulated pair also but only worn them a couple times..never used the saddle with those either....love hate relationship...if I lived in colder climate I would use them a lot more

The natural gear bibs are big and billowy and keep u cooler moving air around inside during the early season and I really like them...stupid side buttons

i wear bibs in the saddle unless it is very early season and i need to vent heat

i wish they made more very light bibs that also have boot zips, double front zip, and not cotton/poly. if anyone knows of a pair like that in earth tones or camo, let me know.....most very light bibs are just camo farmer overalls with nothing technical about them

i wear jean weight ones with a light base layer when walking/climbing and then put on an outer layer.....you can put pants on over bibs when in the tree and it works well and your bridge pops out between pants and jacket....if it is only a little cold, then oversized fleece camo pajama bottoms pull right on over bibs and saddle

I am most definitely a bibs guy. I wear wool bibs whenever it gets cold. In addition and all of my outer camo leg coverings are bibs. Even in the early season I'm wearing bibs of some kind.

I take a bit of crap from my buddies because I still wear a pair of wool bibs my mother gave me for Christmas while I was still in High School. They fit more like pants now rather than the loose slip overs they were when I got them (they must have shrunk a bit over the last 40+ years :tearsofjoy:) and they've definitely seen some wear but I don't care. They're comfortable and still keep me warm. I have a newer pair I break out when it gets real cold but I just wear them over these. FWIW I haven't needed the extra pair yet this year.

Bibs for me unless it’s early season then pants do just fine. I’ve always been a bib guy.

Bibs with full length zippers are the go to. I wear my base layer pants in when it’s semi cold out and hate taking my boots off to put my pants on. I don’t wear my bibs in because I sweat so bad.

Full zipper for sure!!! My buddy just got some Badlands Pyre bibs and they don’t zip all the way up. Thought that was an odd design for bibs

Bibs rock. Pants fall down. Packs, saddles, stuff in your pockets just pull em down. Tried pants a little this early season. Sticking with bibs.

I love bibs when they fit but as a taller guy with pretty normal length legs (long torso) they can be horrible on the boys.

Just sold my bibs. Looking for replacements that are more athletic fit in wool or fleece.

How are the new style bibs? I’m worried I won’t like not having hip pockets. I use those pockets a good bit and hate to see that they didn’t incorporate the pockets on this line of bibs. Is the material quite enough for bow hunting?

The previous style that I like so much are the UA mid-season fleece bibs. Wish I could find another set in a large size.

I have Nomad late season bibs and coat and wear them for cold weather sits. I wear the coat in and pack the bibs to the base of the stand. I wear the bibs over the coat and find it eliminates the coat moving up while in the tree. The bibs have Berber thigh pockets and a Berber chest pocket that sit above my bridge. It’s a perfect setup in my opinion.

I’m fairly particular in the bibs I choose. Here’s my prioritized list.

1)Silent above all else
2) Pocket Layout
3) seasonal rating and wind resistance
4) Full length zipper from chest to groin
5) full length leg zippers
6) Fit
7)buckle attachments (I really hate a bulky buckle when trying to shoulder a weapon. I will cut a buckle off and sew a different one on but prefer not to have to do this)
8)suspender material
9) Price
10)Camo pattern

Im not particular about many things but for some reason I’m overly critical on my bibs. I’ve searched this entire season trying to find something that passes each category but nothing new really stands out for me.
Maybe UA and First Lite but they still leave some things to be desired.

Check out Day One Camo.
I was more then impressed when I got my bibs this year. I will warn you, I got the insulated cowboy suede and they are warm. Gonna have to be a carry in unless it's below freezing.
