Why don't yall 2TC?

Hey, if I can do it, then it must not be very difficult. I'm not exactly a tech nerd.
Can't talk politics here but let's just say that Youtube definitely needs the competition from Rumble. Same with some other social sites.

Did you have to sign up for an account, etc.? Yes, I agree. Competition is a good thing.

Yeah, I do have an account but I don't post many videos so I don't really remember the process.
There's more and more good stuff on Rumble. Stuff that YouTube deletes (too much truth for them I guess), often ends up on Rumble uncensored.

I went over there and looked at it and read through the various licensing options and now I have a headache, lol. I also watched a video about uploading videos to Rumble but it didn't cover the part about actually setting up an account first. We need and upload video button on the forum.

Just painful to try to understand how that crap works. I vote we just go back to VHS.

I thought about just copying and pasting all the code within the video to the site then if someone wants to watch it all they have to do is type all that code into their computer and voila! It shouldn't be more than a few hundred pages of code, lol.

they really do take a beating. I wish they had an insulated boot. These hiking company’s make great boots but don’t tend to make good insulated ones.
They do have an insulated boot in a very similar model. 800 thinsulate I believe.

Sorry 400g thinsulate. In Alabama I’ve been fine all season with a good wool sock and My Oboz uninsulated hiking boot. If I had the the insulated pair I would have to change socks before getting in the tree. I’ve been wanting to get them for a while though. CF5B36CB-8DEB-45D6-9F24-2980C09D2EF1.png

im I’m PA, I don’t know if 400 is going to cut it. I use 800 alpha burleys and even they seem to struggle after more than an hour sitting still.

That's good info. I bet I'd be fine with the uninsulated pair here in MS with a good wool sock. I've got some 1000g Danners that I can wear if the weather gets stupid.

I have 400 gram Kenetreks but also use foot booties when it gets too cold

I don’t hunt on a ROS like I think you do so not sure how they’d work. Prob be too noisy on a ROS

to be honest, I haven’t yet bow hunted after gun season ends. Regardless, it’s more of a concern during gun season for me, those potter county mountain tops get realllllll cold. I’ve thought about going up to 1000+ grams.

The 400’s should get me through bow as long as I’m tagged out by November 15th ish.

Ok, someone ask tailgunner how to make a new thread for all this hunting boots talk!
Hey now it’s still related. If someone says they don’t 2tc because of a boot then it’s still the original topic lol.

yea!!!!

it all started with me saying some of my boots are harder to climb in than others.

Alright, I got in another good 2TC practice climb this morning. The main difference to my setup was the addition of a Kong Slyde to my top tether. This is on 9mm Canyon C-IV rope. I tied a loop on the bottom of the tether and clipped that back into the carabiner to give me a backup should something unexpected happen. It went very smooth. One thing that is going to have to have attention is the metal-to-metal contact on the Slyde to carabiner. It makes noise but some heat shrink on the carabiner should solve that. The Kong adjusts easily upward and is a bit harder to let slack out of. This may just be me.

It was a good climb. Here are the numbers. Setup took 1:42 minutes, actual climb took 5:34 minutes and it took about 4 minutes to make my descent. I made 13 moves this time for an average of 26 seconds per move. I easily got to 20 feet where I would have my ring of steps.

I like the Kong Slyde so far. Just need to quieten it down.

Wait. You're getting to 20' in ~5 minutes?? With 2 ropes??? Unbelievable!!! Seems like everybody should give this method a couple tries. ;)

Seriously, good going my friend. You made it. You put in the practice and it paid off. I'm super-happy you stuck with it! Way to go!

Makes me wish I had trees on my property, I built a house 2 years ago so me trees are only 10-12 feet high. I need to carve out time to go to a park I hunt in order to practice.

Ha Ha, yes, I think if a hunter is fit and coordinated enough to use sticks, then I think they owe it to themselves to give this a fair shake. The best part about that is most if not all saddle hunters will have the materials to do it already on hand. Just try it low and slow. Once you get the basic move down, going higher is just repeating the same move over and over. No need to go out and spend big $ to see if you will like it.

I'm glad I found this method. Thanks to you and all the others who pioneered this.

I love having trees in the yard. I have about 70 or so on my property. They sometimes make me nervous when it is windy or we have tornadoes in the area. The leaves are a pain every fall also, but now I just grind up the leaves with the mower. Its better for the lawn anyway.
