Pursuit platforms

I don't own 1 but just commenting on the angle....
I didn't know pursuit would have a sponge feel. I built my platform to be soft on purpose cause it's more better

I plan on getting 1 of these in the future to compare with what I made. It's lighter and I wouldn't have to restuff it with more stuffing every couple seasons...

What did you make? Did I miss it?

@Weldabeast - you're platform's not crap at all - it's brilliant! @RMcDonald7 - this post from a different thread gives some more details, including pics. He even added craft store "puff paint" for traction. Maybe something like this would work for you better than the pursuit platform - it would be squishy, but you wouldn't have to worry about it buckling. And it's pretty simple to make if you start with a prism-shaped tool bag like Weldabeast did.

I have to say, the customer service is top notch! I'll keep in contact with Brady from Pursuit and help them out any way I can.

I make no judgments on the product or the company generally. No good input there.

But I’m not gonna lie, I find it quite amusing that they will find a large employee to test your platform prior to shipping it to you. So good.

I just dont understand how they dont see these problems during the design phase. I know R & D is expensive. So maybe that is the reason. We are the testers again. I love all of the innovation but when will someone come out with something that doesn't have to have a V2 within a few months?

Except you pay them to work there. Evidently they have hundreds of employees already. All paying them to be testers.

Great to see feedback and improvements that will make a night and day difference.

Had one. Seems to work well. Some flex but nothing substantial. If you’re shaving ounces and eliminating metal, this is a good option. If you already have a small platform on your stick or a solo scout, this seems redundant.

My preference is to reduce the number of things in attaching to the tree, so I’ll stay with the stick platform and ROS.

“Field testing” was done on platforms rendered by a 3D printer in plastic. So what was field tested was a model more than a prototype.

The actual product is a different “stronger” fiber reinforced nylon. (Seems like they needed the pre-order income to fund that). That means different material properties and production nuances that were hard to anticipate or just overlooked.

A 10lb density structural urethane foam in a same size wedge would be about as light as the Pursuit Platform.

Wrapped in a soft foam and sewn into a sac, could be a firmer DIY approach to the soft saddle platform.

Pourable to the molded shape of your choice.

@Superhog - I really appreciate you posting these screenshots. I'm one of the folks who refuses to use the book of faces, so your post kept me aware of Pursuit's plans. Great to see that they're taking action fast to make improvements, and that they'll take back the first release model if a customer wants a refund.

This is great progress! I feel these guys want to make a lasting impression on the Saddle Hunting Community. A few more oz wont make or break this platform. I'll contact Pursuit after work and hope to get one of the first upgraded platforms. Just hope its before hunting season!
