I havent even thought about hunting season yet this year.

I"ve had 3 game cams in the woods with no cards for the last 8 months.

I've killed more skunks in one week this month than I have deer in my entire life.
I haven't shot my bow yet this year. I have been creek fishing this summer and having so much fun I haven't thought about hunting/scouting really much. I have considered not even hunting this fall.

I suck at tuning my bow, so I... Didn't. It hits the dot I shoot at our to 40+ yards, good enough for me?

I suck at actually doing in the woods what I act like online. I act like I walk like @kyler1945 but realistically I've probably set up more times over garbage "sign" because I was tired of walking than truly set up on a good spot. Lo and behold those good spots are still the places I see deer now when I walk past the empty places I sat last year or the year before

I am a gear junkie. I've spent thousands of dollars on gear in the last few years. I can afford it, but definitely feel like I am reinforcing some stereotypes right now about spending too much money and time online and not having the deer on the wall or in the freezer to show for it.

I dunno, I'm sure there's more, I judge myself pretty harshly. I still think I am an idiot for arguing with a bunch of people on here about tree anchors and perceived stresses when base anchored vs canopy vs not anchored... So trying to not be such a jerk. Hope it's working.

I’m in the same boat. I’ve been shooting a little with my broadheads out the back patio door at 20 yards. But I haven’t been able to snap out of fishing mode. Usually
I’m slinging arrows like a mad man year round. All my trail cams laying in my man cave and zero in the woods. I ****ed around in the summer a lot the last 2 years for hunting prep and not sure it helped me much.

I have the taste buds of a teen girl. I dont drink alcohol, so when wife and I ever had a dinner date, we had to remind the waiter that the strawberry milkshake was for me and the glass of wine was for her. Its one of the thing I miss about being a single bachelor, I can order anything I want from the dessert menu without having to buy 5X of the same things because its unfair to the kids.

I literally hide in the restroom to eat a damn Snickers in my house......

Black coffee gives me heartburn something terrible. Half and half and I'm good to go. No idea why.

I've never had coffee in my entire life. I'm not a fan of warm drinks and it smells awful to me.

The closest thing I've ever had was a sip of my wife's Jamocha shake from Arby's. :tearsofjoy:

Been there. Then I quit smoking and can drink black coffee again. It's been years ago, but I was the same way.

Those shakes are legit.

Iced coffee is the bomb.

I’ll never shame someone for drinking coffee no matter how fru fruy it is. It’s supports the industry. I had my first nitro infused cold frappe this year and I liked it. I kinda felt like I needed to go buy some skinny jeans though.

I have realized the same about myself. I need to spend less time online and less money on gear. Scouting and gaining access to new properties is more likely to put meat in the freezer. I’m not as much of a gear junkie as some people here but I’m guilty of worrying more about my setup in the tree than where I’m going to set up in the woods. Plenty of people kill deer every year out of their trusty climber or sitting on the ground.

Of the seven deer I've shot, I have only recovered 5. The two I didn't recover were both nice bucks and buck fever got to me. I've done better about buck fever in recent years.

Last year I shot my biggest buck(~135 inches) yet on my first day out. I was hunting over a food plot I've poured hours of manual labor into. The hard work paid off but I felt really unfulfilled.

My brother wants to take his girlfriend out hunting on our property this year. I want her to shoot something but not something too big.

I've used a butt out tool on every deer I have field dressed. I've never field dressed a deer without one. My dad bought me one before I got my first buck. This year I'm going to field dress a deer without it.

I used a butt-out on the first 3 deer I shot. First one it worked great, exactly as advertised. Next two, it ripped everything to shreds and made a mess for me to clean up. Plus, washing it in my kitchen sink was more distasteful than field dressing the deer in the field. Glad you had better luck with yours.

Not trying to offend by the pic...lol. I could. I'm 46, don't hate.

I actually took this one for a buddy the same time last year.

Sapulpa, Ok
Bippity bumpity.

My wife bought me my first ever Starbucks drink for my birthday. Strawberry Acai Tea is delicious and I try to have it once every week or two now.

I've finally realized that milk/creamer/sweetener in coffee is nice. I've never seen such disapproval in my father's eyes before. Our post hunt waffle house visits may never be the same.

Despite years of calling out ba$$holes for their glitter-rocket boats, I'm seriously considering buying one so I can have carpet under my toesies and a soft cushion for my fanny.

I've been watching tiny boat Nation on YouTube and almost have my buddy convinced to trick out his 14 Jon boat. Seadeck is much better than carpet IMO

I quit coffee after I got COVID cause it don’t taste good no more. Now I drink hot chocolate all day.
I couldn't drink coffee for a month+ after I had covid. Tasted awful. Back to black coffee now but only 1/2 as much as before. Any more and I could rent myself out as a paint shaker.
