Who would you rather hunt with?? Infalt or Eberhart? Just curious!

Ive known John since around 2007 and we would talk a few times a year.
He would give me some input and i would listen.
For some reason what he would tell me just wasn’t clicking.
I just kept doing what I was doing until I kind of discovered youtube and social media.
Back around 2014-15.
I really wanted to start getting more chances on bigger deer more consistently.
I was really getting kind of burned out with how I was doing things.
Needed a kind of fresh start.
I started rereading stuff from John and watching everything i could from Dan.
man was i brainwashed and fed some bs lol
Well after that I dont know if i just matured as a hunter more but it started to click and helped, especially John’s information.
Well in 2017 i finally decided to attend one of the workshops these two were doing in the post season.
Because of tight finances at the time I went with Infalt for 3 straight days scouting
I was going to go with John because he in my opinion was more a tell it how it is or blunt truthful kind of guy.
I like that and i dont like a whole follow me and kill this kind of marketing ploy lol.
I learned from Dan and of course no offense to him because he is a proven killer but, I do believe John is alot better at what he does and how he explains it.
The reason why I think this is John hunts states with far less p&y numbers and in John’s prime he was not hunting 7 days a week and still killed magnums.
At the time i was looking to attend a workshop John’s price tag was too much for my budget.
So I contacted Dan and he did a one on one for 1/2 the cost.
It was a blast. Ended up Me, Dan, and Jeff Geinke and Jeff’s kid.
(Jeff was Dan’s ex right hand man.)
When I was there I learned how to tweak what I was doing and it did help get more encounters on bucks but, what Dan was saying and pushing felt just off.
I couldnt put my finger on it but it just was like a huge sales pitch.
I got pretty heavy on that beast cult but it got really crazy for awhile and it got to be almost like a cult.
Especially After the Dan and John arguments and then the whole Infalt/Daqusto thing.
My eyes started to see whats going on.
so my guy would be definitely John
John i think would walk or explain you through anything he needed to get you to understand why or how you can be more successful.
I doubt John would try to sell you stands or sticks either lol
No offense to no one. Thats my story and why I choose Johnny Carbon. Lol
And no i dont or never will hsve any scent regiment lol
Thanks for the input, I appreciate it. Always good to see how other think or perceive things.

A day hunting with Infalt might look like this...

-Good morning Dan.
-Glad we could get together for a hunt today (sinister grin)
-Me too, thanks, huge fan. Love the t-shirt
-Yeah, I dig nonsequiturs. May be a bit witzelsucht.
-Um, ok
-Alright hunting buddy, put this on (blaze orange lifevest). Now ya see all that tall grass growing out of this here lake, you wouldn't think anything but fish could live in that, but I'm telling you there's a big buck in there. So get in there and chase him out so me and the boys can take some shots with the ARs. Keep your head down. Oh, and have fun.

.......

-So, how'd you like hunting with me today?
-What, I didn't hunt with you. I just mucked through this treacherous crap all day while you fellas piled up big bucks
-Ah, so what did you learn?

Both have great knowledge, however John has really revolutionized bow hunting with both saddle and Scentlok use. He leaves no stone unturned, if he thinks something will make him a better hunter. I bet there are many stories of things tried, resulting in utter failures, like all of us. Many more of Johns ideas and habits fit in with what I have observed or already learned.

This question is better than i thought.i would love to see dan work his skills in the black tail woods.but it would take an entire season of scouting and hunting to get any learned exsperiance.he mm ay have to switch up his own game to ucomlish such .but i bet he comes through with something even if it takes a couple seasons.i started saddle hunting because John convenced me in an hour long Podcast a decade ago that mobile stand set ups work.and in blacktail hunting you need to move with them because they rairly use the same trails into a big area,or the same feeding and beading areas.and when i build my own saddles in my mind he is the only person i have to impress because no one out hear saddle hunts or even knows what im talking about .westside.

Both are great hunters but for entertainment purposes I would rather hunt with the Wenzels and Plebe!!

I was told if you can’t say anything nice don’t say anything at all. Lol. Neither but if I had to choose I’ll say infalt just to see his shirts. Now a real great option would be Nathan Killen.

I was trying to find an image of Barry smashing watermelons into his face (Bowhunting October Whitetails 1&2) to post here, but discovered the sad news that R.G. Bernier passed last August.

The author of the Deer and Deer Hunting tribute wrote "I had the honor of sharing a seminar stage with (R.G.), the Benoits, Hal Blood, Gene and Barry Wensel, Craig Dougherty and Alan Probst at the monster Whitetail Summit event held by Outdoors Magazine in the Adriondack Sports Complex in Queensbury, N.Y."

I'm not naturally star struck, but that's an impressive group.

Now, to not totally PO OP by bringing more names into the fold, I'll get back on topic.

I can only presume what John E or Dan are like as people. Celebrity has a way of camouflaging that essence. I mean isn't this exactly why Mitch Rompola went into hiding? lol.

There are some things that annoy me about both of their celebrity personalities, but I see some things that are maybe a bit closer to who these guys are deep down and there's some things I really like.

Since I goofed on Dan some, I'll tell ya I'm quite impressed that he features unproductive hunts and shares his feelings of gratitude and enjoyment of just being in it...in the moment...in nature...in the wild. And it's something to watch chipmunks climb about the "Big Buck Serial Killer" like a gentle giant and his calmness in nature.

Now, if John was to come and hunt with me that would be great. We drive the same van, so having a decoy could really help me ditch all the followers trying to steal my secret spots. :)

Eberhart is the teacher, the methodical guy the book of knowledge who just wants to share it. Yea he’s about as dry as this summers drought but he knows his **** and he’s not gonna beat around the bush what so ever the blunt answers leave no room for question which can be boring but Deffinately speeds up the learning process

Infalt Deffinately knows his **** too BUT he’s not gonna straight out share it for free the way John does. If I saw Dan at a bar I’d buy the man a beer and let him bullshit me all night because even hunting tales can be interesting. ( I don’t know him so I could be wrong but that’s my impression) I feel like any information he does give puts you on the cusp of a good answer and leaves you hanging.

So all that being said I’d go with John in a heartbeat. His hunting style matches mine much closer than anything else. I don’t have his scent regimen but I do go pretty hardcore. And reading John’s books and watching his YouTube channel has helped my hunting tremendously. Last year was my first year walking in the woods with the word of John in my head and instantly I noticed the change. Instantly I just felt like I was in the right tree and I saw more deer last season than I have in the last 5 years. (On the same property) Mayb one day I’ll buy my own minivan of death lmao

Here we go again! He’s a narcissist, his ego is too big, he lies, he hunts too high, he hunts too low. Who cares! Just go hunt and enjoy the outdoors.

Funny take! Not sure if those secret spots are in a hunting woods best guess!!

John’s personality isn’t for me and Dan and I would differ some what politically. Sooo I’m having a hard time making this decision. I’d rather hunt with one of you hooligans and after we tag one, smash some beers together like we’re Stone Cold Steve Austin!
