New Gear Release 2022!

I'm surprised the safety police have not jumped on this one yet! Carrying a stand with that V right behind your neck and head could result in becoming paralyzed or killed from a brain stem injury if you were to fall backward in just the right way. The latest Hunting Beast video shows them carrying it the same way and I thought the same about them. One of the few ways to die with a stand not on the tree yet.

I have never seen a treestand carried any other way.

The odds of this happening are about the same as enkriss not caving to a new Tethrd product. Practically zero.

It's a great point.

You're basically walking around with the sharp rock 6" from your noggin, waiting for you to fall.

It seems like the beast stand in particular rides higher due to the extra length between the V and the meat of the platform. You can probably can attach closer to the top of the V with shoulder straps, but it will be less comfortable on your back. And if you want to use them as loadlifters, you won't be able to.

Something to consider if you're walking around on uneven unstable terrain in the dark on a regular basis...

Easy… I never bought a phantom elite….lol

I remember a time you thought the one sticks were the greatest ever. Defended them pretty vehemently…

I have fallen carrying a stand and hit my head off the v bracket. Cut me pretty good. Hit hard enough I was seeing a couple stars for a second too.

Slipped on a rock going down hill that was buried by leaves.

Here, let me fix that for you :tearsofjoy:

It's not my stand, so I can't comment on how the Beast Stand rides or would fit me personally. Just a pic I lifted.

But Sean, from Sean's Outdoor Adventures, talks about about that risk and carrying his stands flipped 180. Then again, he had a pretty sketch climbing method, so I'm not dubbing him safety sherrif.

I have fallen hard backwards with a LW Sit and Climb, but didn't hit my head. It rode kind of low. I do carry a .5. It rides pretty low too, but I'll have to take a look at that again.

Sean's point in his video resonates with me. Coming down a steep ridge face that was covered in leaves, I stepped onto a runoff that was hidden beneath them and went for quite a ride. The stand was definitely pushed upwards on my back, but like I said, I didn't hit my head. Luckily.

I remember his thing where he would hang a multistep aider on a tiny climbing stick that had no bottom bracket. To each their own but I’d rather put a beast stand on my back and run through a mine field.

I know it does seem a little pricey. Supposed to be climbing system and platform together and all fits in a fanny pack according to the video on you tube.

At 3.2 lbs I had to try it. Suppose to be back in stock in a couple weeks, hopefully I will have for my Ohio trip. I will let you guys know how it works out.

I went ahead and pulled the trigger on this. At a little over 3.0 lbs for climbing and platform seems like a win win for long treks. Also no worse than spending 300.00 for a barren ridge that I use for the tall pine thickets.
