Team Johnny 5 is alive!

Finally hit the woods last weekend with no luck. Rained on me all day Saturday so that was a blast.

Back at it this weekend for 3 days. Hope to put something down. Bucks should start getting frisky soon with pre-rut just starting in my area.

pretty sure first prize is just bragging rights. I shot another doe tonight so that won't help us either. I FINALLY saw some scrapes opened up tonight as I was tracking my doe into the thick stuff. Scraping is super super late this year. Anyone experiencing anything like that?

Walked my sections last nite and marked the scrapes on On X for Sept 1st, Depression has set in. I guess we'll hunt ground hogs now.
 
Seems late to me as well in Northern Louisiana. Only been out once last weekend but will head up there tonight for 3 days. I’ll see if any more sign shows up.
 
must be some kind of weird white tail phenomenon going on. I have perennial scrapes that are sure fire every year with very little activity. Im still getting bucks and does on camera at those locations that are just walking through and occasionally the bucks are working the licking branches, but not opening up the dirt. And still very little if any daylight activity at the scrapes too. We are of course 12-15 degrees above average for this time of year. im sure thats not helping. Muzzleloader opens up this weekend here and thats usually the best 2 weeks of hunting all year, so hopefully ill get eyes on the wide 10 point ive got on camera. Well good luck boys. Get after em!
 
Had something walk under me at 6:40 but too dark to see anything. Other than that morning sit was a bust. Had this snake under me too before I left.

Just set up in a creek bottom over a fresh scrape and rub. We shall see.
