New Gear for 2023, Go!

I thought those grommets were for mating the top and bottom together

I’m not talking about the grommets. They have the little T looking things built all into that platform. The same as the hang on.

After I said I’m going to buy one of these stands I am not sure. I did not realize until reading further that the platform was 24 inches. My Lone Wolf, sit and climb with the hazmore seat is only 18 pounds. I also have the hand climber that is 17.5 pounds. If the new belts are going to fit my current stand, it might be foolish to spend that much money to save 6 pounds.

Its a nice climber design it really is and it folds flat and is super light, but I still don't see why you would go backwards to a ridged, noisy system compared to a saddle system. I get that climbing a "climber conducive tree" is more convenient and arguably a bit faster but you're back to carrying in a ridged, heavy platform and hand climber and now you're talking about also carrying in climbing sticks too....... really? I want simple and light and no noise as much as possible. I've got two summits and an XOP sit and climb and haven't used them in several years. Is this new offering that much of a progression??? I think its a great product just not sure if it will be a go to for me personally. And I don't see how it will make my options open up an more than one-stick climbing. My beefy modded frankenstick with a muddy tube and EWO upper and lower platforms although bulkier than like a standard OG Ewo stick is super stable and still only 4.4lbs. I'm just not seeing $900 worth of advantages is all.

In the video they showed using them to secure the top and bottom together with the stabilizer straps, and can use them for layers. No reason you couldnt do sticks too, but me I'd use j hooks for that.

You do you, the appeal to me is having as many options as possible in one system. Definitely, the versatility is number one. I hate changing my gear back and forth between multiple setups, I like one setup I keep in my truck ready to roll all season and just switch out my clothes in my pack as needed .

I already hunt out of the .5 and have zero desire to go back to a smaller saddle platform. I like everything about saddle platforms until it's time to shoot then I generally hate them, and I find the shooting part of hunting kind of critical. Unlike many saddle hunters I actually like to shoot stuff lol. So looking to stay in something close to the .5 size but add that super easy climbing capability because probably 75% of the trees I hunt can accommodate a climber.

Another example in rifle season a lot of the hunting we do is small pushes, when speed setting up is of the essence I can carry a lightweight climber and be set up in about 2 minutes whereas one-sticking might take me 5 or 10.

I'm not entirely sure it will be worth it either but it's something I've wanted to try. I hunted exlusively out of Summits and Loggys my first 20 years and getting back to the ease of climbing after messing around with all these relatively fiddly "saddle climbing" methods is something that really appeals to me at the moment but who knows, maybe it's misplaced nostalgia or something.

Capitalism doesn’t reward “nice guys”!

i think it can if the consumers hold their feet to the fire and choose ethical companies....that's why i think pointing out what companies are doing wrong and right is good

Gotcha. I'm sure what you're talking about can be done. Maybe they intended it, but it's a very deliberate build and I'd think they'd have gone with grommets or half cups for stick mating like the other stands if that was a design feature. The T tabs are for strapping gear down. That could include sticks, but J hooks are a better attachment imo.

That climber is awesome.

Also, take andres personality or leave it…watching a dad and son build a successful business together doing something they’re passionate about is really fun. Good for them.

We blew by 500 for a hangon and 300,00 for sticks and everyone said the same thing. I said it a year or two ago - 1000.00 for a stand will get a lot of hemming and hawing. Then be normal.

Anyone want just the bottom section? I just want the top to hunt out of hubrid in a pine tree.

Carbon fiber sticks. Like whether or not they are going to break or fracture in cold temps. Hopefully their testing included those type of extremes. Might be worth an email.

You really think even consider putting a huntjng product out that can’t handle hunting season temperatures ?

I mean I get the concern. But is it one that’s concerning enough to be voiced?

Haha I’m just picturing them sitting around the conference table a year later scratching their chins…”dang boys, you know I didn’t even consider whether these devices thousands of people are using to climb 20’ in the air during huntjng season would be able to withstand 20 degree weather without being compromised. That one really snuck up on us!”

How does being unique keep someone from taking your unique idea and using it?

Because if you have a UNIQUE idea, as in, the literal sense, and it adds value to peoples lives, our curren IP laws offer you bulletproof protection to monetize your idea.

If you have a unique idea, as in, you feel like you own it because you may have thought of it first, our system is currently set up well for you to attempt monetize it, then people way better at business than you monetize it better, with almost no risk.

Point being, people might FEEL like taking someone else’s idea is wrong. But our feet and our wallets suggest otherwise. We want cheap stuff that does what we want. And we buy it like crazy.

It’s not a good business strategy to make something that can’t be protected by a very broad net. You might get lucky and take advantage of a wave of interest. But if your business is not optimizing production and distribution and having the capital to operate in low margins, you will be beat.

Ummm, hand up emoji.

I’ve got a great 10lb climbing platform already. My only interest here is the bottom of this stand to get me a few pounds fleeter.

i am interested in just the bottom section. Andre’s personality? More like Narcissistic personality disorder….Does anyone else notice how many times he says… I did that. I brought it to market. I, I, I … it’s like nobody else works at that company.

and then Cody is a complete mess. His self mutilating behavior is classic of a child brought Up in a dysfunctional family with an emotionally immature parent.

I will wait until someone copies their design and then give my money to them.

Andre did that…he brought that to market…it’s true. He started making stands by himself.
