New Gear for 2023, Go!

Latitude backing those sticks up with a 5 year warranty tells me they are pretty confident that they will not break due to temperature (or use).

Interested about the distance from the tree complaints, I've never experienced this issue, climbed hawk helium's, beast sticks, and EWO one stick, pretty much all the time I'm slightly duckwalking so my toe points out past the tree anyway when I'm on the steps, or standing on the top double step with my heels on the step and toes squeezing the sides of the tree.

Full disclosure, I want those sticks to be good. Latitude so far continues to appear to be a stand up company, and a no metal, carbon composite stick could be huge. I need to hear a video of someone banging them together or knocking a carabiner off one. What type of noise is made, and how much more natural does it sound than metal on metal. That's the real question for those sticks IMO.

they are the most innovative stick released this year due to the construction methods. Ok fanboy done.

The sticks look interesting, but with out cable aiders they are a no go for me.
Not much weight savings to take a chance on a new material.

The Glendale mini elk target is awesome. Although the rinehart last forever.
The nock off Mathews bridge lock stabalizers could be huge product.

I like em.

Probably not enough to make me spend 100.00 a stick.

But,

On the unique topic…I’m going to speculate that they don’t have great protection in place for their IP here. Which means someone much better at everything downstream of the idea factory will copy the best parts, tweak the bad parts, and offer basically the same thing for 50.00 each. I might be interested at that point.

I appreciate their contribution to the game. And I appreciate the next in line who makes it palatable for me to use them.
The Chinese are all over that one. As we speak. So to speak. :hushed:

It seems TN is releasing a new product every day.

Like Tethrd, and others, they showed some stuff last year at ATA that didn't get released.

They did however announce on FB the release of that aluminum platform this past season (during fall I think) and it didn't make it to market.

It may seem like a broken record because they've talked about a CF treestand and platform for quite some time and we've seen prototypes of them. And they said they were coming out with longer standoffs and metal steps for the C1/A1 sticks. Those items have't materialized yet.

Idk, doesn't seem like a laundry list of daily cancellations to me.

Logistics were tough last year, and that is reflected industry wide if you take a deeper look. Latitude and Cruzr had sticks that didn't make it, the mini-Seeker came in season. Latitude even sold head of the line tickets. I'd rather everything be good out of the gate than rushed and problematic.

TN did get into the saddle market last year with a pretty good offering imo.

Carbon fiber sticks. Like whether or not they are going to break or fracture in cold temps. Hopefully their testing included those type of extremes. Might be worth an email.

They make carbon fiber skis and snowboards, not to mention snowmobile chassis with an engine driven track racing around it. Most plastics take extreme temps to become brittle. I 3d print with carbon filled nylon and even these products don't get brittle with below 0 temps. I think from a cold stand point they are safe.

Coming out this year?

Idk. They were supposed to add traction to it and it looks the same as last year. Claim is that it's dimensionally amongst the longest platforms (which I like), but it doesn't appear to differentiate itself much beyond that. I don't know if that's an all stop, given the sheer number of platforms on the market now.

The sickness of the mobile hunting community and releasing products too early is real. These companies set themselves up for problems. Do your testing and innovation. Then set a real release date that has an actual product to sell.
I have no use for a carbon stand that isn’t real or stick improvements that never happen.
Im done and sorry for the rant.

Camel, they're totally gonna call their new (future) saddle product "the sickness" now...and you caused it :)

actually, i like "tree sickness" as a name for a saddle company.....

Garmin has a new InReach. Super interested to see how that works out. Uses cell, WiFi and satellite.

Oh...I got the cheaper (yellow) satellite one I got for a steal at Sportsman's Warehouse (like $220) or I'd be all over it.

It's one of the best things I've bought. If someone hunts out of cell range, I'd 100% recommend to not buy those new sticks (if they need to budget it) and get a satellite communicator.

I have an old Delorme. It maybe time for an upgrade. It’s a huge piece for me in September. I can leave and my wife feels better knowing she can get a hold of me of something happens at home.

Just change carriers to T-Mobile and wait…

they talk about the noise level of the sticks a bit here
and i think the step design looks like it'd take a strap style aider pretty easily, and likely could be done in a way that doesn't affect stacking. once my divorce finances get settled i'll buy a set to try out this off season assuming they'll ahve availability.

XOP updated their website.
