New Gear for 2023, Go!

My understanding was that the top shown in the video is the saddle climbing platform and will be a separate product. They were only using it as an impromptu seat while developing the bottom stand and that the actual climber seat will be smaller. Go to 2:40ish in the video.

I think that is the part that is getting overlooked. Something that everyone has been wanting. I don’t necessarily want a climbing stand, I just don’t like dealing with sticks and I’m not into rope climbing. At 5lbs it would be lighter than my sticks and I could climb as high as I want. Interested to see the price point.

Cruzr sticks are a disappointment. I’ll pass.
I almost feel like they put a ton of time, effort and money into their other idea that didn’t work. Then they were like screw it heres this. I’m sure it’s a nice stick but .5 a pound to save on my current sticks isn’t enough for me to spend the money.

I agree. If the price is right I’d be willing to give it a try. That is really the only climbing method I haven’t tried.

Those 1.5lb XOP sticks are $179/4pk. I love all the new stick options coming out. Glad I didn’t pull the trigger the other day on 4 beast mini’s, hard to justify paying $150 more. But I do think the standoffs on the beast sticks would work better on really small diameter trees.

Some offerings that haven't been mentioned yet. TN carbon stand...Elevate stand
Well TN put the carbon out at last years show. It never made it to market. Elvevate made it to market over the summer. My buddy bought one early. He now owns a .75.

Probably, but dang. I was hyped on the resin/polymer idea. It’s like a junkie coming off heroin. Now I’m all down and just need a nap.

they might be able to incorporate that tech into an ultralight platform

Kind of strange

some of what he said was wrong or kind of nonsensical....for instance, there's all sorts of things in between aluminum oxide and diamonds regarding hardness...also, i have an aluminum baseball bat in the corner that is literally covered with aluminum oxide...in fact, i keep trying to remove it (not really) and it keeps reforming!!!

edit: i keep watching and finding more gems....i'll update here

he just claimed that aluminum head won't oxidize....no way....the sharpened bare edge of aluminum will immediately oxidize

an aside, there's no way he found an alloy of aluminum harder than a good steel....if sharp, those thin aluminum edges will likely gouge if they hit anything substantial

last edit: i had to stop at 3:30....i just couldn't take it anymore

The heads look nice. But aluminum? Eh… it’s a no from me. Hopefully they make them out of A2/D2 tool steel or something. Then I will bite

That is a good point though. He was spewing off things that were not factual/made little to know sense. They aren't the best marketing guys, however, I'm pretty sure they have showed over time they can make a good product.
