Saddle hunters support thread.

I’m gonna have to start selling stuff to make up for these recent purchases and the future ones to soon be made
There’s a couple of things to stay away from. One is anything that @Red Beard has tested under UV light, another is the gen 1 and 2 products of a certain well known saddle organization and third is anything or anyone from Florida. Avoid Floridiiots like the plague and you’ll be alright.

Up to this point I’ve avoided certain places. But I am looking forward to helping ease the load and help be a crash test dummy for future products from all vendors

Wait a minuette you got to start the guy on the 200 to 300 dollar stuff, saddles, platforms and such. Then you move to the $400 climbing sticks.
Then when you get him to buy all this stuff, you move to the 1k Kifaru packs.
That's the way you guys did me!
You forgot where you sell it all in the end, and end up hunting either back on a stand, or 2tc with a minimalist set up. And your purchased a bunch of stuff you all ready sold. Only to then dive down the trail again of trying the newer version of all the stuff you sold before.
Only to then end up sitting on a Pack seat shooting a Mini. So the best advice to @WPS87 is sell the phase 4. Purchase a Mini, pac seat, and 2TC set up and forget all the other stuff.

But I can’t sell my baby, we just got together.

My bank account does not like any of y’all. In my other post @Camelcluch was trying to get me to buy a canyon pounder. I’m gonna need a couch to sleep on when I get kicked out.

Get a Drey Dryad, you can sleep in the tree. I use mine all the time when wife kick me out of the house for buying backup to my backup. She just doesn't understand.

Forgive me guys for I have sin. It has been 45 days since I purchased a hunting related item. But last night my wife gave me a $10 Amazon gift card she won at a raffle. Told me I can use it to buy an archery glove I have been wanting but resisted. I fell into the siren's call and gave in!

Not exactly 100% saddle related but I'm falling down the hunting rabbit hole hard this year, recently bought another gun, a Ruger sr22 to start working on handgun fundamentals/put some holes in soda cans and paper targets. Oh yeah and two recurve bows as well. And a exo k4 for my overnight hunts (mainly for a trip in September, so of course I had to buy it the first day I could on rokslide lol) These hobbies sure are fun, but can be expensive. And that's all in the months I think my divorce is moving forward on. Then things take a turn like they have this month again and spending comes to a screeching halt, then I think I'm in the clear again and go wild... Lol some real sound financial management going on over here.

Now who wants to help me help them spend their money instead of mine? I'm real good at coming up with reasons to need something

@Camelcluch you bought that canyon pounder yet? Lol

How's the K4??? I'm hovering over the buy button...! I mean I probably DO need it. I did just buy a second chest rig, and I should probably get someone to buy my new backup Mystery Ranch frame/bag. Pretty good on climbing methods, unless the Sladder comes out. I did buy the new Mathews Phase4 29 and two dozen new arrows, and I need more broadheads... Here we go, follow me!

I don't have a ton of packs to compare it to, but it's the best pack I've had on my back, hand down. I've carried a mystery ranch popup 38 in the whitetail woods and a variety of osprey/kelty backpacking packs for overnighters in the past(before I got into hunting) but this one is great. Super comfortable, hoping to test it's load carrying capacity this September and as often as possible after

I've owned Badlands frame packs before and really liked the new version of the 2200, and I'm currently running two different Mystery Ranch packs... I love the looks/weight/concept of the K4 and I'm hoping it's "the" one lol. I wear a pack in on almost every trip, so you almost need to "want" to carry it...

It will handle more than you want to go very far with.

If you plan on hauling gear in using the load shelf, I recommend you watch this video:

Accessing the load shelf is very easy, but there’s velcro. Not the end of the world, probably make way more noise climbing, but it’s something I don’t prefer.

I do think the K4 frame is really smartly designed for comfortable carrying, but I personally favor layout features of some other frame pack options for my saddle hunting setups.

I’d just suggest considering if the K4 is fully compatible with your hunting setup. It’s unfortunately not ideal for mine and it kind of bums me out.

Thanks for the post. I will keep my Kifaru. It's not perfect, but it works for me.
