You are insane. Idk how many divorces this causes but it's probably the biggest cultural barrier in my marriage.
I’ve got a 16’ double axle flat bed trailer that I’ve wanted to convert to a hunting camper. My idea is to get a 8’ long pop up, and turn it side ways up near the nose. Then id like to cover the length of the trailer. That way I can haul a Jon boat or kayaks. This would give me about 8-10’ on the rear of the trailer to park an ATV, and any other gear I need to haul. But before I do any of that I need to replace the axles on the trail, and 2 axles with brakes are expensive.

He means the same thing as when some people think toilet paper comes off the bottom of the roll versus it coming off the top.
I tell my wife every time I find a new roll not put on the holder (bc she goes through it most) I throw the entire roll in the toilet, can’t be flushed it has to be taken out. Took only 1 time and she doesn’t leave a new roll off the holder anymore lol
There is a reason my wife and I use different bathrooms.
Opus was that overland pop up I was referring to earlier, if they have an American equivalent I’d like to know, they have some nice ones but nothing like this that I see.
Just bought this in the spring. Pulls easy. Only 3000 lbs. Has a surprising amount of room. Has shower and crapper, fridge, mini kitchen. It’s a 2010 and still looks great.
I have been looking online last couple days at diy camper builds. Pretty cool ideas out there. Most are just using a trailer for the frame and go from there. Got an old pop up frame trailer that I'm pretty sure is gonna be a camper build.
The number one rule of campers.
When you are camping i it you wish it was bigger.
When you are towing it you wish it was smaller.
We have an Rpod 179 and love that thing. Pulls great, super simple. The people before us kept it in good shape. I did have to replace the batteries and the AC/DC converter but that was no big deal. The cost wasn’t fun but I did all the work so I guess I “saved” money. Works great as a hunting camper but we use it mostly for camping with my wife and kid.
I really like that idea. Not sure if I'd be able to sell the wife on it. Windows on a camper somehow don't seem as necessary as windows on a house. How often do you sit in a tent and look outside? Natural light is nice, but so is not dealing with leaks, and being insulated and warm when it's cold out.
My wife and I were talking about a pop-up camper on Marketplace the other night. I think I'd rather have a hard-shell of some sort, with some indoor plumbing. Y'all with pop-ups... how do they handle the cold? Snow? Anything we get would primarily be a summer toy but I'd want something that could conceivably be used year-round.
Pop ups are nice when the weather is nice. It's raining, you get to your camp site. Get out in the rain and try to set it up!
