I’m not giving out any secrets but I will brag, opening day is my wedding anniversary and I never miss opening day. Is it my finesse or is it bc I have the most understanding wife in the world, you be the judge lol

I’m in…. Ive been plotting a mass killing since December last year. Heading to Kentucky this weekend to put cameras out. May hit southern Indiana or Missouri if I tag out in Ky early. Hunting all public.

Mid September there will be a 2023 sub thread created under the Deer Hunting Contest forum. Under the 2023 thread there will be a sign up thread where you just say “Im in” and the mods will add you to a team. Last year all that was required was that you were a paying member. It’s $15-20 a year I believe. The second thread will contain all the rules for that year. They typically don’t change too much from one year to the next. So all you gotta do is wait impatiently for the 2023 contest thread and say ‘I’m in’ when the time comes!

If your season starts earlier than the contest make sure to take a picture with the deer and saddle. You are usually able to submit it once teams are picked. Teams appear to be random with the exception of the mods being spread throughout evenly (I think). Mods will message teams and someone from each team will start a thread for their team with everyone added.

Alright, the wife interrupted me during my typing and @gcr0003 beat to it. :tearsofjoy: Thanks for the summary!

We'll open a sign up thread sometime in September for "green badged" members. Once the signup deadline passes @redsquirrel has a secret "formula" for randomly selecting teams. Don't worry if your season starts before the contest, just get a picture of your deer with the saddle and it'll get counted. Check out the 2022 Hunting Contest forum for more info, it'll be really similar to that.
