Look mah....no training wheels....or crutches......if i was packing in a bundle of sticks next to à dude packing in nothing? I would think something?.... .or feel some sort of way.
I'll be making him say pretty please if he wants to sit by my fire coming in empty-handed like that.Look mah....no training wheels....or crutches......if i was packing in a bundle of sticks next to à dude packing in nothing? I would think something?.... .or feel some sort of way.
What's the green wire gate on the foot tether for? This is all you need minus a saddle. No reason to complicate things. It took me several attempts to get the hang of it. Go slow and be patient. You will likely get it.
Ah gotcha that makes sense, makes my amsteel daisy chain/extra carabiner unnecessaryFor passing limbs, you clip into your bridge, then move your top tether around the limb

Ooooo-k.My friend is feeling it...you can pick your friends and you can pick your nose...but you cant pick your friends nose.its just weird.like playing football with crutches.all the players fall down....it just might hurt more for the dude falling on the crutches.thats why its called a handycap ...carry less gear you can carry more beer.....to the fire ....like a champion who gets invited back
Seems like it would also eliminate a third tether.Ah gotcha that makes sense, makes my amsteel daisy chain/extra carabiner unnecessary
@Red Beard can this be added to the first page as a disclaimer LOL truer words never written by tailgi mean everybody who has looked at this thread ,its because deep down you know you dont need anything but 2 tethers to get up a tree despite your cool looking beloved (extra) gear.and it is just that extra.
Well my son and I tried the 2TC method using amsteal aiders covered with the fuel line. We struggled with the aiders quite a bit, but other than that it was pretty cool.
I have two of THESE arriving Saturday and we'll try it again. I have to believe we'll get a nice rhythm going, but we'll see.
It's worth the effort and expense to give it more than half-a-try.

Wicked kickouts when 2tc.........no harm done...over 3000 posts without harm done not one gouge or little scratch from a stick......cant even iiiiimagine! that on a thread about sticks....Soooooo...i had a catastrophique kickout once 2tc.and violently sat back down in my saddle gouging my anus on a strap softer than a cats ass ,blood gushing as i reach for my tourniquet in my mandatory 2tc.dedicated first aid kit to put around my neck to stop the bleeding ,luckly i had my phone so i didnt need to scream out to my wife in embarissment and could be life flighted out of my yard.it was so scarry that my anus puckered up and stopped its own bleeding befor the medics got there ....sooooo lucky that time...there...now it sounds like a thread about sticking to make the majority of people feel like its safe to do.....back to trolling.I have one of those things and thought it would be great for 2TC. It’s nice for perfectly straight trees, but I experienced a couple of wicked kick-outs with it on leaning trees. No harm done, but for me personally, I can mitigate less than perfect gravitational challenges better with my foot against the tree in a webbing loop than I could with that plastic aider/step.
On rare occasions (for me) passing limbs but every time I hunt it first serves as the place my backpack goes when I am retrieving and installing my ring of steps during the climb and then as the means to attach my backpack once I am at hunting height. You can see how I attach the pack in the picture below. The foot tether goes up under the main tether while hunting and gets rotated to the 2 o'clock position. The distel hitch with the wire gate goes up to lock it in place and then the backpack gets clipped in.What's the green wire gate on the foot tether for?
Smart kidGot a 2nd opinion on 2TC. He wasnt impressed. Said it was too much work compared to one sticking. 9 year olds.....
