    I own Klein tree spikes. I bought them gently used for cheap af. They’re great. I read someone saying the learning curve is steeper with tree gaffs And I would agree... I was comfortable inside of 5 practice attempts.

    I have tree gaffs and they’re a little scary. From what I’ve seen pole gaffs angle out straight from the side of the stirrup and tree gaffs are offset out away and the angle down. My Klein tree gaffs are 2-1/2”.

    Later during this sit I saw two studs that didn’t come into range. I was pinned down by does or I would’ve got some pictures! The bigger of the two would’ve easily gone 150-160”.

    Arrow recommendations

    I’m shooting carbon express maxima reds . They’re the best arrows I’ve shot. I have Easton bloodlines and carbon express pile drivers but they ended up in my practice quiver. There’s not a lot of difference inside 40 yds but if you get outside that range the difference is monumental.

    Trees to avoid with spurs

    I’d definitely say get the pole gaffs. I have tree gaffs and here in Indiana they’re not necessary at all. Pole gives will give you a lot more contact between your feet and the tree and you’ll be a lot more comfortable.
