    Let's see them small boats!!

Here's my small boat. It's a custom built 1260 with 24" sides. All 1/8" aluminum. 50hp 4-stroke Merc. It's a tank. Fishes great in little creeks all the way up to running the Ohio River. I love it. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

    8mm vs 9mm for Tether

I have some that 8mm GM climbing rope. Use it for my bridge and rope mods on my sticks. It's pretty decent rope. I also use their 6mm for my prusiks. However, I just got some 3/8 Sterling HTP, and that stuff is way nicer than the GM rope. If I were you, I'd sacrifice the extra size, and get the...

    My first DIY 3-step etrier

Been playing around with different climbing methods, and wanted to try an aider on with my WE stepps. Was gonna buy ine, but I already had a roll of 1" nylon webbing here at the house, so I decided to try making my own. Pretty happy with the way it turned out. The space between steps is a little...

    Load Bearing Leg Straps

Good responses fellas! Thanks for the info. Hopefully I didn't derail the thread too much, just trying to get full understanding of everything available to me, and to remain as safe as possible without going overboard. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

    Load Bearing Leg Straps

I'm definitely not questioning the safety of a saddle. I felt safer in my SitDrag this past season than I have ever felt in tree, even including ladder stands. It's definitely a freeing experience. I'm more just questioning as to what makes a RCH an necessity with a SitDrag, as compared to a...

    Load Bearing Leg Straps

Well that's kind of why I'm asking. Seems like you're taking away from the whole safety aspect of the saddle by removing the one thing that keeps you held into it. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

    Load Bearing Leg Straps

Aside from material though, the chances of falling out are just as great, correct? So it seems like using a RCH would be best practice to avoid any mishaps. I've never seen an actual saddle in person though, so maybe I don't understand exactly how they work. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

    Load Bearing Leg Straps

If you guys are removing the leg straps on your saddle, what makes it different than a sit drag with a belt sewn in? Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

    Anyone have an Alps pack?

Good to know. Thanks. I've always just carried a camo backpack, and it's seems like I always either have a bunch of wasted space, or carry in more stuff than necessary. This one should let me take only what I need, without the bulk of a bigger pack or trying to get by with stuffing the...

    Anyone have an Alps pack?

Thanks for the offer guys, but not sure the Pathfinder is the one I want. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

    Milkweed alternatives

I tried cattails the other day. It worked, but fell to quickly you really tell me much more than what I could already feel. That and they clump up pretty bad and it's hard to separate the fluff. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

    Anyone have an Alps pack?

Haven't decided on a pack yet, but still looking at them. I came across the Alps Willow Creek, and it looks pretty nice too. Small enough to not be bulky, but big enough I can carry the essentials I may need in the woods, and my platform should fit nicely in the open space between the front...

    Never too young to start!

Very cool. I was trying out my new Sterling rope I got today and my 2 year old said he wanted to sit on the tree too. So I introduced him to saddle hunting. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
