    Inspecting Rappel Setup Quicklink Knot

I have 40ft of Sterling C-IV that I have put a triangular quicklink on using a scaffold knot. I have used this setup for a couple years, probably total of 15 all day hunts on it so not a ton of use. I have never untied that scaffold knot that has the quicklink on it. I just recently became a...

    Canyon C-IV

I have 40ft of Canyon C-IV that I bought from DanO a couple years ago. I am looking at my order history and I also bought a 4ft piece of Sterling 6mm TRC and prusik tender. I put small scaffold knots on each end of the TRC line and put the TRC line into a 4 wrap distel hitch configuration. I...

Cam Cleats/One Sticking - Heavy Person

I am actually going to use two WE steps at height as my platform. Do you use the backup tether since you are hunting off of this stick?

Cam Cleats/One Sticking - Heavy Person

I am 260 in the buff but wouldn't surprise if I am close to 280-290 with all my gear. I will give the Harken 150 a go, good news is one sticking I am always tied to the tree so I don't think hurt too bad if it ever does fail lol.

Cam Cleats/One Sticking - Heavy Person

That's a good looking setup. I am tossing around just trying the Harken cleat but it kind of is a safety concern coming so close to the 300lb working limit. I doubt the cam cleat manufacturers intend for these to be used this way. I could probably resell the Harken on here and just buy that...

Cam Cleats/One Sticking - Heavy Person

I have kneepads, GriGri, hollow block, and 40ft of canyon rope. I just bought a Harken 150 cleat from a member on here. What cam cleat did you use that holds 500lbs?

Cam Cleats/One Sticking - Heavy Person

Where did you install the cam cleat on the stick? Like if you have a 20" stick, how far from the bottom did you place the cam cleat?

Cam Cleats/One Sticking - Heavy Person

Anyone here one stick with a cam cleat on a stick who weighs around 260lbs? I see videos of guys using climbing sticks with cam cleats who look to be in better shape/smaller so was just wondering if any heavier guys have tried this out?

About to give up on WE Steps, maybe switch to one sticking?

Do you think I could get by using a Muddy pro stick and 2 WE steps as a platform? Does the stick weight really matter much for one sticking? I can handle tying two WE steps. I can get 4 muddy pro sticks for about the same price as one DanO stick and one Harken cam cleat off of amazon. Is there a...

Is it easy to add a cam cleat to a stick? What rope do you use for the cam cleat? And do you use a platform?

What do you use to attach the stick to the tree, OCB strap, amsteel daisy chain, etc.? I have an EWO stick in my cart but can't believe how much it is!

Are you insinuating that the pursuit of the perfect climbing method is an endless money pit and that no such thing actually exists? Please don't be so reasonable! My wife can never know this!

About to give up on WE Steps, maybe switch to one sticking?

I actually have a summit goliath climber and thought about using the base of it, but I figured it wouldn't handle side loading at all. How do you deal with that with your lone wolf climber base?

About to give up on WE Steps, maybe switch to one sticking?

Aiders seem incredibly difficult to use in full cold weather gear with a giant boot in the dark, I have the WE aider and it is just horrible. I am lightning fast and can get to 20' with 5 WE steps in jeans and work boots, but that doesn't cut it in Minnesota from October onwards. How in the...

About to give up on WE Steps, maybe switch to one sticking?

Hello, This is my second season working with WE steps and I just finished a long weekend hunting with them. I have practiced with them and I am proficient with them, but they are just too fiddly. I think they would work great for someone hunting in warmer conditions and if your feet are smaller...
