    Mystery Ranch Ewwwwwwww

Interesting I do use the coolers in different applications so my opinion is definitely skewed, I’ve never tested them head to head. And the weight difference is very noticeable that’s a fact.

    Mystery Ranch Ewwwwwwww

Just out of curiosity what other brands would you say are better? Genuinely just asking cause my yeti 65 has been pretty bullet proof the last 10 or so years I’ve had it. The RTIC’s I have don’t quite compare but they aren’t far off.

    Mystery ranch popup size

I have the 28 as well. Plenty room for gear inside the pack itself and light outer layers. If I’m bringing thicker jackets I slide them in the meat shelf and cinch it down tight, I think it carries better that way instead of trying to force it inside the pack.

    Packing Out Meat Advice

I finally got to break in my new MR Popup 28 this past weekend, connected on a big doe Sunday morning and killed a 9 point Monday evening. I’ve been packing out deer for the past couple years but the MR is the first dedicated frame pack I’ve owned, so far I’m liking it. The only problem I...

    LUME Deodorant for deer hunters

I was gifted some a couple years ago and I’ve used it just during deer season. I’ve actually been able to tell a difference than the typical unscented deodorant I normally use from arm and hammer. Typically I wear synthetic base layers and can tell I have some under arm funk after a full day...

    Considering a LBL trip…

Due to the hardwoods steadily maturing and the lack of ground cover, I don’t see there ever being a high deer density in LBL. Definitely there will be pockets of higher numbers where you find thicker woods, but for the most part it’s low numbers. I would be very curious on how thick the woods...

    Hunting Large Rivers

Use the river to your advantage, try and find an obstruction in the woods that funnels the deer between the obstruction and the river. Could be a slough, pond, laid over tree, or the end of a ridge if you’re in hill country. I like to access by boat as well like you mentioned, less chance to...

Finding sheds in the deep south

I think it has more to do with land availability. 500 acres in the south isn’t the same as 500 acres in the Midwest for instance. If there’s 25 deer on those 500 acres they are spread across the whole 500 acres. Compared to the 500 acres in the Midwest where the deer are more concentrated in the...

Finding sheds in the deep south

Simple answer, no. I’ve found some that I’ve just stumbled upon rabbit hunting or turkey hunting, but it’s just been pure luck.

One stick climbers who switched to 2tc

I switched to 2TC from no stick climbing with my predator platform last year. I can’t get as high per move but I feel I don’t have as much slack in my system while climbing and there’s no metal to metal contact. If I didn’t pay attention my safeguard would hit my platform sometimes climbing. I...

    2023 Turkey Hunting Thread

Season started here in MS March 15th. I was able to get out opening morning and heard two a daylight, was eventually able to get one to flop at 9:50 am. My first ever opening day bird. Decided to get back in there March 18th and see if I could locate the other gobbler I heard 3 days prior. I...

Hopefully Quick easy question about Tether

Most are referring to a stopper knot at the very end of your tether. So if your using an 8ft tether and something happens and you slide down that rope that knot will catch you before your rope slides all the way through the mechanical device.

Hopefully Quick easy question about Tether

Short answer, yes. Just be mindful of the rope spec for the mad rock.

    Venison Philly Cheesesteak

I was surprised it came out better than I thought. I was afraid it would fall apart with the meat grounded but that melted cheese on top really held it all together nicely.

    Venison Philly Cheesesteak

Had some ground venison with about 20-30% hickory smoked bacon mixed in leftover from some smash burgers I did the other evening(which turned out phenomenal btw, should’ve taken a pic), so I decided to try my hand at a Philly cheesesteak with some ingredients I had laying around the house. Just...
