    PNW-OR WA meetup?

Anybody interested in a meet up somewhere in the Portland,OR area? G4 archery (Hillsboro, OR) does a customer appreciation day in the summer. Might be able to piggyback around that or possibly even get some vendors to show up. Lots of big vendors already show up each year. Could also do...

Where are all the Tethrd ONE sticks?

I was wondering the same thing. The specs look good, and I’d like to buy a couple, just can’t see much feedback from actual users.

    What size fid 1/4” amsteel?

I do the same but make my own out of .035 weld wire. Makes a full length burry very easy. I bought a cheap plastic fid 3pack for the locked brummels. Ive also use a pen.

Earth scented or unscented lotion question

I’ve got eczema pretty bad. And use Aveeno. It’s oat based and doesn’t have any scent added. Cerrave also doesn’t have any scent added. I use it all the time archery elk hunting.

    Oplux!!

I inherited 2 50ft sections of it after some brief FD testing. Very light and compact.

The PLVOD (Public Land Van Of Death) Build Thread

One thing I did with my bug screens is treat them with the livestock grade permethrin. Helps keep the bugs from getting around the edges as much.

    Preset anchor hardware?

Very true. I’ve used screw in steps for years on tree stands and hanging cams, but even with pre drilled holes (still lots of holes to drill;) I think a preset paracord loop would be faster and less weight to carry. Especially if I end up sitting and calling in half a dozen trees in a day. I do...

    Preset anchor hardware?

Not missing anything, that’s certainly an option. But that’s a lot of bolts to buy, pack and set if I’m gonna do a dozen or so presets for this area especially is I’m gonna try and get them all 25ft. It also leaves the option to use a climber on the tree later if a buddy wants to do a full day sit.

    Preset anchor hardware?

Nope your not missing anything, I was just overthinking it. Have you ever run into an issue on larger trees where there is too much friction on the back side of the tree and you can’t set the girth hitch, or it sets low and sets further (slips) as you climb? Some of the trees I’m hoping to use...

    Preset anchor hardware?

Hey everybody. I’m looking for feedback and input. Brand new to the saddle hunting and tried the search function, but couldn’t find what I was looking for. I’m planning on climbing SRT and doing a bunch of presets where I elk hunt. I tried to put some up while I was doing trail cams the other...

    Soft shackles to rock harness?

I’ve built and used soft shackles a lot. Some for off-road recovery and in place of a caribiner on my treestand harness. I used it on the treestand harness to eliminate noise. I also rubbed in a little tree pitch on the loop to give it more body and keep the loop from opening as easy. Once...

    New guy from WA state

I’m in SW WA and hunt within an hour or two of my house. My go to area is 10min from my door:) I’ve killed lots of deer there but the genetics aren’t great, and I find myself traveling further in hopes of something bigger. I’ve got lots of friends in the Boise/McCall area. Good hunting around there.

    My DDIY Utilibridge

Looks awsome. I built a smaller (Diameter) one on my tethered saddle for the the lineman’s rope. Works really well. I’m thinking about building one out of 5/16” Or 3/8” as an adjustable anchor strap for winching with my 4Runner.

    New guy from WA state

Hey everybody. I’m Alex from WA state. Just bought my first saddle and excited to use it this year. I mainly hunt elk throughout the west. I spent 60+ days last year in and out of state on 5 different elk tags. My wife thinks it’s a bit excessive, but I don’t agree:) I’ve treestand hunted quite...
