Seems they sold a ton of these when they were first released. I've seen a few complaints, and even fewer being resold.

So what happened? People returned them? People loved em?
 
Best sticks out there in my opinion,also my two brothers would agree.
We each have 5 sticks and use them heavily with no issues.
 
I was wondering the same thing. The specs look good, and I’d like to buy a couple, just can’t see much feedback from actual users.
 
There have been many failures. When the new batch comes in I will be ordering some. They redesigned then without the glue securing the steps

Not to starting “tethrd sux” debate, but wasn’t this the same thing they did with the predator platform …. Sold a bunch, they had issues with breaking, they redesigned, but never issued a recall for the ones that were breaking?

IMO, their ethics, and the manner in which they handled customers (notice I didn’t say “customer service”), has turned many away. Shame too, their media presence is very beneficial to saddle hunting. Seems the business got the better of them.
 
They're going for $250 each on Ebay right now. They're in high demand and not currently for sale on the website. I have 4 and love them.

I have three of them and there is no way I will give them up. I had to get creative earlier this year to find them and all three came from different people. I use the three with my 2 step aider from Backwoods Customs and I can consistently get 15'-18' hunting height. I know the bottom step can get loose, which one of mine has, but it won't slow me down. They pack amazing, are solid on the tree, and I like how they attach.
 
if they improve the glue issue…. That’s great.

Foot room is the only issue I see. I have come to appreciate the foot room on the EWO climbing stick.

They glue issue is bad. Other than that I liked them. When they remedy that I will buy a set and sell what I got.
 
Funny, this weekend was the 1st time I realized footroom isn't that important to me. I run shikars and still find my calves burning by the time I get up to my 4th stick. Foot room or not, I tend to use my toes when climbing
 
I have to say I had an issue with a broken rivet for the Amsteel standoff on a one stick of mine recently.

Tethrd handled it with almost no questions asked, paid to ship me a replacement with stealth strips and paid for shipping the broken one back to them.

I can’t speak highly enough about how well they handled the situation and how quickly they resolved it for me.

For comparison I bought 2 ebikes to use for hunting ( for about 75x the price of a one stick) and only got a runaround when I had issue with one when it arrived without being programmed correctly …. Then a smart a$$ email from their customer service team… but I digress. The point is there is much worse out there.

As far as first generation issues for a product, you have to realize they are a small company with limited resources. There is only so much r&d or testing they can do before a launch.

I work with jet engine components for a living and it takes 10’s of thousands dollars just get the ball rolling on a single part design and we still have issues with the first generation of a component sometimes. It’s just the nature of the beast. Without enough data points (samples size) what eventually seems obvious wasn’t necessarily a consideration at the start.

Dan Infalt also works as a R&D machinist from what he’s said but Beast gear goes through redesigns. There is always room to improve, just like hunting. Not trying to speak for him here but I’d imagine he would at least have to agree with that.

I guess the point is that if a you wait for perfection before a launch then it will never be released. They made a number of efforts to ensure safety and continually support the saddle hunting community before their own sales. Hell they even put out videos on how to make items they could easily just try to sell us.

We should be happy that we have so many resources available to us to choose from and we are free to send our dollars where we like. I know where mine will go.
