    Cam cleat on 5/8” Shikar?

I noticed none of the regular Shikars come with a cam cleat or the option. Is this a safe installation? Any of you guys running this combo? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

    Beast sticks with Cam cleat

A little bit of “meh” stuff in that video. Threading a 12-24 (oversized) screw instead of using a #10 as recommended by Schaefer seemed odd. Stopper knot on a drilled hole instead of girth hitching to the stick seemed like it would wear over time. Getting those nuts lined up inside the stick...

    Beast sticks with Cam cleat

I’m thinking of swapping from a 20” Hawk to a 20” Beast. Looks like almost 1lb weight savings. I have a cam cleat on my Hawk and really like it for 1-sticking. Scrolling through the forums I don’t see a ton of people using a cam cleat with the Beast sticks? Is there a reason for this or am I...

This has made one sticking 25% faster and easier for me. Has anyone else tried it?

True you only move the stick twice but you are also doubling the climbing steps by adding the foot aider. You may get a bit higher with 2 moves but I don’t see that you are really saving much time doing it this way. If you really wanted to save time you should add a cam cleat.

    Saddle Creep

Aero Hunter Kestrel Flex - medium to small ass. I’m not uncomfortable in my saddle until the leg straps start getting tight from the creep. I lowered it about 4”-5” earlier and it seemed to help. Ill keep playing with it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

    Saddle Creep

Mine is about hair high as I stand on my platform. Might try something lower. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

    Saddle Creep

What is the main cause of the saddle creeping up my backside as I hunt? Bridge too long? Tether too high? Need some ideas to try. I have to pull it down every hour or so. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Transition from Ridge Runner to Scout

I have been using a Ridge Runner for 2 seasons and I really like the platform. I am a smallish guy (5'8" Size 9 boot) and I am a 1-sticker. I've been wanting to try out the Scout mounted on my Hawk Helium stick to cut some weight/bulk from my pack. Question: I am mostly a leaner so the site...

Gun for my son(6 year old).

I bought my kids a Ruger American Compact in 7mm-08 and they shoot the Hornady SST Custom Lite 120gr rounds. I will tell you that any ballistic tip round is not designed for pass through but for destruction of the vitals. The deer rarely go far with a good shot but there is also not much of a...

Scout for Helium - EWO vs. OOAL

I was considering buying a scout for my Helium stick. I noticed on EWO that you can choose between the Helium version or 1" tube version as well as straight vs. slanted. On the OOAL website you don't have any choices... Just "ADD TO CART". Do you need to call them to order a specific version?

    Rappel rope length

I have 35' of Sterling HTP 9mm and I wish it was 5' longer. I have had a couple of times where I rappelled down to the bottom of my rope where it was not touching the ground.

    Helium stick mod

If you are setting multiple sticks for climbing I think the regular rope mod is fine and maybe even preferred due to cost. If you are 1-sticking the cam cleat is the way to go. Recent thread about hawk helium cam cleat mod...

Cam Mod for hawk helium mini

I guess I'll just mount the 70-17 on my stick and use some 9mm Sterling HTP to test it out. If I went with a smaller rope I might save an ounce or two. No biggie. It has to be better than the versa button and buckle strap that I am using now. I liked the rope mod wrap around the versa...
