Lone Wolf (Novix) handclimber top for climbing

Good point I didn’t think about the tether and lineman belt.

Had no idea how good this would be.

I agree. Even though it may be an expensive “safety harness” option, I use it that way for hanging stands as well as sitting in pre-set stands in places I don’t want to actually “saddle hunt”. This was my first year with a saddle and it’s been a good bridge over to full in saddle hunting...

Lone Wolf (Novix) handclimber top for climbing

This is what I was wondering about, how much of a pain is it compared to hanging sticks or screwing steps in? Unless it were a large tree you couldn’t get your arms around it doesn’t seem like it’d be any worse but I emphasize SEEM because o hadn’t tried it.

Lone Wolf (Novix) handclimber top for climbing

I’ve used the LW handclimber top for climbing limbless trees (in conjunction with my saddle) but wondering if anyone has used the top in place of climbing sticks for trees with limbs instead of climbing sticks. Obviously if the tree has a lot of limbs it would be too much...

    Confronting Deer Envy

I totally empathize with you. I saw on FB where a teenager killed a 160s 14 pointer, beautiful buck on a property that I had permission to hunt this year but didn’t get to because I’ve been letting my brother hunt with me because the lease he is on sucks so bad. I am happy for him and envious...

    Hunting in the Right Place

You mentioned low pressure pockets in high pressure areas. What is the smallest area that a mature buck would typically use as a low pressure pocket versus simply vacating the area altogether? Additionally what do you consider high pressure? Is it x number of hunters per acre or huntjng a...

    Help with saddle comfort

How is it packing the JX3 in? It would nice if they could come out with something lighter and smaller for guys under 200lbs. I was tryin to get away from anything over 5 lbs.

    Help with saddle comfort

I tried the sitting on the side of the tree last night. Wasn't bad but I still felt "squeezed" by the saddle. What kind of changes would help alleviate that? I am certain I have the correct size saddle. Just wasn't sure if adjusting the bridge length, tether length or what was the best way...

I appreciate all the replies! When I haven't done something before even the simplest of ideas don't come to mind for me....that is why this is so helpful.

    Help with saddle comfort

It’s the Tehrd Phantom with the bridge that comes with it. I’ll measure when I get home from work.

    Help with saddle comfort

Thanks I knew I’d have to experiment. Trying to ride on the saddles/shoulders of you guys with the experience to shorten the learning curve.

    Help with saddle comfort

What is all that stuff you have going on there? Are you using 2 tethers?

    Help with saddle comfort

Thanks. I have been using the tether at forehead height. I have been using the lean method but I think I'd prefer sitting.

    Help with saddle comfort

1st season saddle hunter about to hit the woods 10/1. Still trying to figure out a few things for a more comfortable sit. Any help on these issues would be much appreciated: 1) Getting a lot of strain/pressure on my legs, especially my thighs and back of my thighs. It feels like I am doing...

    Lone wolf hand climber seat

Wondering if a Summit Open Shot climber top with attaching to the tree independent of the seat would work better? I know the “belt” attaching and detaching is not as easy but surely it stays on the tree better.

For those using scent sprays, do you think one brand works better than another?
