DIY Gear Strap...aka my HYS Strap clone

Seems to handle it pretty well. My wife wouldn’t sew anything on it that she thought would damage the machine.

DIY Gear Strap...aka my HYS Strap clone

I want to thank Ernie with Tethrd for posting the diy video on how to make the HYS strap. Also Mark Dohring for his video, I really liked the finger loop he added to the end to pull it tight. The one thing I did add that I didn't see on any others is, on the end that passes through the main...

    Hickory Ridge Mini Inline Xbow

When I adjust mine for new arrow setup’s I just sight in for 20yds. Considering that a double lung kill zone is the size of a dinner plate, at 50yds I just aim for center and drop them.

I’ve also been playing with a little heavier broadhead. With the QAD Exodus in a 125gr it pushes my arrow up to 390gr with an FOC of 12.68%. Haven’t checked speeds yet, but I can tell they are hitting harder.

    Hickory Ridge Mini Inline Xbow

QAD Exodus full blade 100gr, only broadhead I’ve found that flys like a field point. Victory VForce Elite 350 arrows. Max I’m comfortable taking a shot is 50yds, but that’s me. I’ve got targets set at 10yd increments starting at 20yds out to 100yds. At 100yds free standing I can do 6 inch group...

    Hickory Ridge Mini Inline Xbow

I have a mini and love it. Yes it can be cocked from a saddle. The trick I use is to place a hook above my tether, hang the bow from the foot stirrup and pull down on the string to cock it. I have a Ravin R15, gave it up for the mini. Ravin to heavy and to long. And I’ve had a limb on the Ravin...

    Face paint recommendations

Never use paint. Anyways use a pull over face mask. They come in many brands, Buff, Got, etc. Also sometimes called fishing UV face masks. They are light weight and breathable, can get them heavier for cold weather also. I usually find them at Wally World in the fishing department right next to...

Water Bottle Options for saddle hunting

I use the Sawyer 16oz water filter bags. Then when they are empty they go flat and can be rolled up. They have a screw cap. Can be used with or without the filter. I use it without and leave the filter at home. Get them at Wally World.

    Bull Hitch

I was having issues with the carabiner rotating around in the prusik knot. And with needing to make sure one keeps the correct load orientation on a carabiner, i tried several different things to stop it from happening. Nothing worked for me until I found the bull hitch knot. Rather then me...
