100P&Y deer, MORE P&Y World Records than ANYONE

I have a signed copy of Life At Full Draw that was a gift from my brother. Chuck sacrificed a lot to have the success he’s had. It’s been awhile since I’ve read that one, but it’s a more impactful story than the usual tips and tactics books frequently name dropped on hunting forums, at least imo.
I have it too and you’re right. I believe his first marriage suffered as a result of it. John E. mentioned in a recent interview how his first marriage was sacrificed for his success. Strange what big deer and game can do to a man!

Chuck always used range finders before I even heard of them!
Yes he did, the stadiametric ones made by Ranging where you align two images and then read the range off the dial. I still have their R50 model I believe one of their firsts And the TLR 35 model which I got for a Christmas present one year. Man I really thought I was an advanced archer at the time :tearsofjoy: :tearsofjoy: :tearsofjoy: :tearsofjoy: :tearsofjoy:

High tech low maintenance…lol

Women are just unreasonable when it comes to deer hunting anyway

He still shoots fingers. After a longtime alliance with Hoyt then Reflex then Hoyt when Reflex was discontinued he went to Bear Archery last season. I listened to a podcast when they were making the announcement. He was going with the Alaskan and one of the higher end models.

I've seen pics of him shooting a release for quite some time now.

I know right. My wife expects and demands the freezer to be slam full by the end of every season. Finally had to explain to her that hearing people say they harvested a deer didnt mean they just went and picked one like an apple. We gots to go kill 'em and they make a living not getting dead every day of the year.

Not to drift too far off topic, but this was one of the harbingers of the end for me, in three seasons it went from encouraging me to go, to requiring offset "her time" whenever I went (glad to do so) to mocking my interest in hunting and acting like it was some toxic masculinity thing. Unreasonable to the extreme, but sounds like you guys are keeping a better balance. (I don't think hunting was a cause for my split, just an example)

Ok the other hand, the women on here certainly seems to out-hunt me, so it's not true across the board!

That's impressive an all but has he killed a deer on public land in north Florida?
I’m not sure. But, I know he still spends weeks and weeks alone in the wilds of Alaska. Tent camping. I think he’s confuse the Florida deer pretty easily. No, I’m positive he could

He’s a true hunter. Not a Facebook or internet influencer. You don’t hear about him because he’s not interested in fame. He’s interested in hunting.

A few years ago I was at the Indiana Deer Classic. Chuck did a seminar on the NA deer slam. It was fascinating. There were ELEVEN people in the seats. That and the 400 seats that filled up for the two bimbos that talked about shooting deer out of coops in the middle of a 100 acre food plot showed exactly how pathetic most deer hunters are today.

I’ve hunted all but the Colombian Blacktail and have a ton of respect for what I takes to have an archery Super Slam.

I saw a similar scene at the same Indiana show probably 10 years ago. Chuck gave a seminar to a nearly empty crowd. Later I saw him sitting alone at a folding table with his books for sale. There was a line of grown men going past his table who were waiting to get an autograph from some unknown outdoor TV personality. Meanwhile the most successful bowhunter alive sat there largely unnoticed. It was hard to believe.
