I love two blade heads. I shoot them exclusively.
At least with Magnus they’ll send you new heads…….Before going to 2 blade single bevel broadheads I shot Magnus Singers and then Magnus Stinger Buzzcuts, 100 grainers. I felt the Buzzcuts with the bleeder blades worked better for me. I did have some broadheads get damaged, but the deer were dead. For a lightweight fixed blade head, they are very good.
I hear u on that....after I sharpen before season starts I slather my broadheads in vasoline..... No rust and helps ease the pain of insertion for the animal
I mean we strive to be the most ethical hunters we can be right?.... Only takes a second to lube up“You’re about to get a hole stabbed into your organs little deer but at least it won’t sting for the first 0.01 seconds”
Well you may as well just coat it in lidocaine cream while youre at it then... you can get it at any corner drugstoreI mean we strive to be the most ethical hunters we can be right?.... Only takes a second to lube up
u can use a little bit of light oil and it works good too. Some of the carbon steel blades rust almost instantly.I hear u on that....after I sharpen before season starts I slather my broadheads in vasoline..... No rust and helps ease the pain of insertion for the animal
The deerz will appreciate it. Ranch fairy should test the increased penetration and maybe the strawberry scent will lure in wary ungulatesI'm gonna try the astroglide strawberry flavor this season
This is #1 on why i made the switch. I dont see enough of an advantage using the GrizzlyStiks i shot for 2 seasons and had to retire after 1 shot often times. They were great heads but u hit anything hard and they chipped bad. Magnus take a little longer to sharpen but they work great and its a $35-40 investment that lasts a lifetime. I do love the single bevels but i shoot a lot of does and it gets real expensive. I just saw how much a shop charges for "organic" venison though and good god im sitting on a gold mine! 10 deer is worth damm near 10k if you nickel and dime it lolAt least with Magnus they’ll send you new heads…….
i got the vpa single bevel 200. Now I wanna get the kme an a strop gonna be razor’s2 blade VPA 150 grain and I believe the blood trails depend a lot on how sharp your edge is and shot placement more than how many blades you have. Penetration is more important to me. A pass through in the lungs is my ultimate goal.
I believe you. But I’ve never had a heart shot deer run out of sight.I shot some 2 blades last year. They're amazon knock offs. I got them crazy sharp and the quality was no problem at all. BUT the blood trails were AWFUL. I heart shot the buck I killed last year and literally never found a drop of blood. I have to bring in a doggo. Luckily, things turned out fine and I do attribute part of it to there not being a pass through but gosh it scared me.
I also shot 2 does with the same heads. Heads held up great. Deer died not too far off but almost no blood trail to speak of.
Guess that depends a lot on how far you can see. I killed a doe a couple years back that went a total of 60 yards but it was so thick you wouldn’t have found her without the red carpet of blood she leftI believe you. But I’ve never had a heart shot deer run out of sight.
Just get stropping compound, white and green ( i like to use both). You can use cardboard from a cereal box and it loads up great and works 100% just as good...imo.i got the vpa single bevel 200. Now I wanna get the kme an a strop gonna be razor’s
Yeah I can see how that is possible. I hunt south GA and most of the untouched woods are jungles. Still is surprising to me, I can agree the 2 blades don’t have great blood trails. But I don’t have that problem with the single bevel 2 blades. The exit is much more square and dumps blood.Guess that depends a lot on how far you can see. This is what I have seen as well with 2 blade single bevels. You get that L shaped cut from the twisting effect the rotation causes. If you look closely in the picture below you can see a pattern to the hair that is spiral shaped along with the L shaped cut in this exit wound.Yeah I can see how that is possible.
