This will be my first year hunting with a Trad bow so I am hoping I am some help. I will say this, 9 is my lucky number and since it is my first year with a recurve bow I'm putting a arrow in everything that I possibly can. I'm not worried about birthdays or antler size or any of it I'm only worried about getting some experience and some kills with this thing.
I do have one question if gun kills count what are we supposed to kill with, besides a bow? One sarcastic member suggested muskets

I have a Kentucky long gun .50 cal round ball and a 1860 army .44. I cinsider my my marlin lever 30/30 trad though :)

Last year was my first year with a stick. Wasn’t bad - got two does and passed quite a few decent bucks.
I’m after one that will help the Trad team - a big Hoosier 11pt. Passed him last year at 5 yards, he won’t get that courtesy this season. Holding out for him or a couple other mature bucks I’m following, so I’ll do my best to get some points on the board with a couple does at least.

Yeah I was hoping the Winchester model 70 chambered in .270 would cut it. I only plan one gun hunt this year and it's for lottery draw and it's modern firearm only.

Dang it I can't see your picture my Tapatalk is broken. I believe in the rules you can upgrade your buck and since I have three Buck tags first legal dude with horns that I can kill is going down(if I don't miss). If I have a chance to upgrade then I will for sure. If I'm lucky enough to run out of tags early in Louisiana I'm not very far from Mississippi and I can afford that license as well. I'm just hoping to fill a couple of my tags to be honest. Should be a good year here for Mast crops. I've already started seeing acorns on the ground. We've had really steady weather this year with no excess of rain and no extreme droughts.

I have been playing catch up on this thread since page two. I feel like im in a snoopy carton. All i been reading is “wa wa wa, team 3 posted, wa wa wa wa, team 3 posted”. As long as half of team 3 comes through y’all stand no chance. Y’all be flinginairos into trees thinking branches are bucks lol!!
