2022 Prime Inline series

Cool cool, probably compare them to Hoyt and Mathew’s as that’s what most people shoot. I’ll shoot the 31” and the 33” for sure. I’m lea I got towards the 31” myself as I like the smaller size cause I ground hunt as well as saddle

Yup, just offering my services to the fellows here. Not shooting a video review or anything.

*with that being said, I did find his review as a bit of an “outlier” as some of the comments he’s made don’t seem to line up with other peoples reviews of the inline series

Alright guys here it goes…..

i shot the prime inline 1&3, the elite envision, the Hoyt rx7, the Mathews v3x, the bear whitetail legend, and the pse nockon bow….can’t remember the name.
I shot all bows at 29” draw and 70lbs I like. 31” ata so if the models were close to that, then that’s what I went with.

Visuals: Almost all the bows in the tests were of perfect fit and finish except two….Bear And Hoyt. The bear just having a “budget kinda look to them and the Hoyt with having the worst paint….not good for a $1700+ bow. Quite a bit of rough looking metal especially on the single color flat finished bows it was VERY apparent.

Volume: My top two as far as shot noise were the Prime and the Elite and the loudest was Hoyt and Bear.

Hand Shock/Recoil: again the Prime and the elite had the least amount of shock and recoil but the surprise was the Hoyt and Mathew’s were the most viberational in the hand…..yea the bear had less vibe than Hoyt and Mathew’s.

Speed: N/A *i shoot heavy 575gr+ arrows and I didn’t have them with so I shot w/e they had.

Conclusion: all in all I knew what I was going to look for and it didn’t disappoint. Made my order for a Prime Inline 1 with morel riser and black limbs.

hmmm…. Interesting… something has to be up with the Mathews. Maybe accessories but the Mathews is by far the least vibe and noise of the bunch. Probably the crappiest draw but definitely the deadest. Actually I can’t say that I haven’t shot an RX7 yet.

I had a prime back in the day, nothing bad to say about it except back then they were draw length specific.

Id have no problem going back to a prime. I currently still shooting a Triax. See no need to buy a new bow.

Hope you love your prime.

There a new bow I’d never heard of that guys are raving about: the Athen’s Vista.

Well that’s definitely your opinion, I didn’t feel that same however Yea, I’ve always felt that the Mathew’s were WAY better feeling than Hoyt but not with the new cam system…prime had them beat, with a lot less busy of a design

Eh… not my opinion on the Mathews. It’s been tested by several outlets and they all came to the same conclusion. Mathews makes the quietest bow on the market since 2018. I hear hoyt might give them a run for their money this year though.

Primes always had a good draw cycle and overall feel but never really quiet. They were always plagued with a moderately loud metallic ping noise on the shot. The new cams did slightly improve the noise. I did like the inline 3 I shot. Nice bow. Glad you found the bow you like.

Well I haven’t seen anything personally on this data yet with the current lineup of bows for 2022 but ok bud. Just giving my opinion of things that I heard in the archery shop today.

and thanks, I’m super stoked for this bow build. Should be awesome to do and just an absolute doll to look at

Thanks for the time in the review! I always like hearing people’s opinions on bows. Everyone is different. Bows are so close these days you can pick the bow that suits your style. I personally start with something I can grip consistently then I like string stops as I like a little softer feel while at full draw. Where I can pull into the shot a little more. I had a prime and enjoyed it, shooting a Hoyt now. Wouldn’t mind shooting another prime. I’d like to compare prime in terms of efficiency compared to some other brands as it’s one of the few I haven’t been able to do that with.

Yea the first time I’ve shot a prime with the new grip….definitely love that aspect too! A-B testing is def subjective fornsure. If you liked the older ones, I HIGHLY suggest the inline series

I was a Mathew’s fanboy for years and then in 2015 I went to a shop for an all day thing and shot all the major bow brands and that day I figured out that it came down to Elite and Prime BAR NONE, ended up going with what I still shoot to this day which is my 2015 Prime Alloy and I’ve never regretted it, the looks I got from people having the quad cams was a bit much but over the past 7 seasons I have nothing bad to say about prime. I will say Elite is a close 2nd maybe even 1st depending on the day. So last year I was just wanting to do the same thing, not looking to buy only to see how much they’ve changed shooting wise since 2015. Again, Prime and Elite blew everyone out of the water except, wait a minute, the new Bowtech… I was never a fan of Bowtech but since they switched limb manufacturers and dnt have that splitting problem anymore they have grown on me over the past couple years, now I dnt see myself getting a new bow anytime soon, was never a person to buy a new bow every year, hell, I shot my Mathew’s Ultralite for 12 years before I upgraded But I look at it like this, the lowest end mainstream bow nowadays heavily outperforms my old Ultralite, I think we in the hunting industry (as in most other industries also, especially fitness) we get caught up in the new this the new that and what’s that guy shooting blah blah blah. I always tell people, ALL bows now are top of the line compared to years past. Go out and shoot them all and find what works for you. It’s an awesome time to be open minded when choosing bows bc no matter what you choose it’ll be the bees knees and the only difference between them is how they feel to the individual. Like for me nothing is smoother than a Prime, but I also know people that HATE the solid back wall. With all that being said, take opinions with a grain of salt (even the one above) and partake fully in what I think is one of the best parts of hunting, spending all day in a bow shop shooting all kinds of bows to decide which one works best, it’s a journey. Stay Frosty.

I think what’s awesome about the bow brands is different bows fit different people. Once you really break a bow down you can pick one that fits what you like and what you want out of a bow.

I personally can’t shoot limb stop bows very well. So when I had my Prime I didn’t shoot it well. Bow just didn’t fit what I like and how I shoot. Still an awesome bow though.

So with how I shoot and what I like I shoot Hoyt. Not saying their the best they just shoot and fit me. I like their grips, cable stops. I also like thedraw weight forward in the draw cycle. Not built up right at the end.

Can’t really go wrong with any of the big names bows today!

I shot the prime inline 3 a week or so ago and really liked it. I like my BowTech revolt x alot, so I'll probably hold off this year. I know if I was in the market for a new one it would be the inline 3 for sure

Do y’all ever think they will invent a compound that will shoot 400fps? Or do you think (as I do) with the current design no matter what they do they’re pretty much maxed on speed unless they completely change the design?

Nah. based on my experience of actually shooting both of them back to back… I agree with mballs assessment.
