2023-24 Trad Kills

I talked to some guys who shot grizzlies for a while and the blood trail was the only complaint with them they had. Most I talked to killed piles of deer with them. For that reason I’m trying VPA 3/1 3 blades this year. Hopefully they’ll treat me right.
I shot one deer with a grizzly. I double lunged it and watched it fall but I never did see a drop of blood on the ground. I didn’t look real hard because I knew were she was but I did look. I’ve had much better blood trails with three blades. The blood trail from the doe this morning was 3’ wide and 2’ high from the shot to were she was laying 40 yards away. A blind man could have followed it.

I don’t normally post my kills, but I’ve been told that the Trad Team on SaddleHunter is having an unspoken competition with the others……so, I’m here to help my Trad brothers and sisters out! LOL. Chock-up another traditional!

Small, but tasty! My time is running short this year, so I shot a freezer filler! Using a 43@28 Firefly Longbow, Gold Tip Trad arrows, VPA 3 blade heads, TAW 562 gr. Shot was 10 yds, Pass through, tipped over in 30 yds. Quartering away shot. Arrow went down through lungs, clipped heart, and out through offside brisket. Exit hole visible in photo. My hunting set was between bedding areas (classic whitetail tactic), shot at 2:30 pm. Nothing out of the ordinary! Absolute blessed sit!!

Anyone know our total trad kill number???

Have a Blessed Holiday season all….and be safe.

160# boar shot from saddle at 18yd
I shot a bit too upfront and my arrow broke a vertebra and cut the spinal cord, the boar fell in place.
I had to quickly climb down to get it finish with knife.

If I tried to wear a blaze orange beret hunting like that my buddies would be mentioning it in my eulogy. Well done!

Don’t mind my alter ego, he has heavy bow, heavy arrow envy issues.
